Alley's condition, which was "just recently discovered," was being treated at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, according to the star's devoted family.

The Shocking Reveal

On December 5, William True, Alley's son, and Lillie Price, her daughter, shared the news in a social media post:

“We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered. She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”

Stevenson Pays Tribute To Kirstie

After she passed away, Stevenson, her ex-husband, posted a touching photo of himself and Kirstie on Instagram. He devoted a caption to her and placed the picture with it. It read:

“Dear Kirstie, I am so grateful for our years together, and for the two incredibly beautiful children and now grandchildren that we have. You will be missed.”

More Condolences

Along with her family, Kirstie was remembered by her classmates, colleagues, and fellow actors. Cheers co-star Ted Danson revealed to People in a statement on December 6 that he was watching an episode of the comedy while traveling. He disclosed that it was the scene from the episode.

An Empty World Without Kirstie

Ted wasn't the only co-star who paid tribute to the Look Who's Talking star. Steve Guttenberg, It Takes Two co-star, recalled her generosity, adding the world would be a bit empty without her.

An Outstanding Actress

Kirstie received two awards for her performance as Rebecca Howe in Cheers, a Golden Globe for best actress, and an Emmy for outstanding lead actress. It is thought to be her breakout performance.

Her Relationships

Alley wed Baywatch star Parker Stevenson between 1983 and 1997 after marrying her high school boyfriend in 1970.

She adopted William True in 1992 and Lillie Price in 1995 with Stevenson after having a miscarriage.

Kirstie Didn't Remarry After Stevenson

She did, however, humorously quip that if she got married again, she would "leave the guy within 24 hours" since she was confident he would advise her against doing something.

Despite frequently flirting with her co-star Ted, Kirstie managed to stay single after her breakup.

Goodbye Kirstie

Kirstie kept the world in the dark about her struggle with colon cancer. Although many people in the entertainment world have passed away from cancer, Kirstie will be sorely missed because of how talented she was.
