With only a few days to Babylon premiere, Brad Pitt thought to put us on our toes a little as he shared snippets of the movie. Although for the upcoming comedy/drama from the La La Land director, Paramount Pictures has released not one but two trailers. Both the movie's "naughty" and "good" trailers emphasize the star-studded ensemble, which includes Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie while focusing on contrasting aspects of the story.

A Lot Of Nudity Scenes

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pitt provided a rather detailed description of what to anticipate from one of Babylon's party scenes. According to Pitt, the intricate, nudity-filled sequence required two weeks to produce. He continued by saying that it took him a few days to adjust to how chaotic things were on the production set; however, it did become the new normal.

"The first day was a bit shocking, even for me. I went, ‘Wow, wow, we’re really doing this… a lot of nudity, a lot of nudity. And then, day three it was like, ‘Yeah, a lot of nudity.’ And then two weeks into it, it was just like another day at the office."

How Pitt Landed His Role In 'Babylon'

Pitt's role is fictitious but is based on John Gilbert, a significant silent film star in the 1920s who struggled to shift to talkies. He shares the screen alongside Margot Robbie as aspiring actress Nellie LaRoy and Diego Calva as Mexican immigrant Manny Torres, who is looking for his big break.

Chazelle claimed that Pitt was the first to agree to play one of his three leads:

“there are not many people, I think, who could play Brad’s role in this. The character is an all-time movie star so you kind of need an all-time movie star to play it; there aren’t many of those today."

Margot Gets Accolades From Fans

Robbie has received the most praise for both the first and second trailers, with some reviewers claiming that the Australian actress, who plays Harley Quinn in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) movies, appears to be giving an Oscar-worthy performance.

According to critics who also saw it at VIP screenings, Robbie outshines everyone in the movie. As a result, many predict she will be nominated for an Academy Award for the third time in her career during the event in 2023.

Because of the actors and Chazelle's track record as a director, expectations for the movie are at an all-time high.

Fans Have High Expectations Of 'Babylon'

Chazelle became the newest filmmaker to win the Oscar for best director for La La Land (2016), which made fans' expectations for his latest project high. However, Chazelle's screenplay and directing have received both frank praise and scathing criticism.

Some people have complained that the movie's grand and pretentious style prevents it from conveying a compelling plot, turning it into a tiring three-hour excursion that makes no meaningful statements about its themes and focus. When the film debuts in theatres, viewers can make their own decisions.
