Professional skateboarder, filmmaker, and stunt performer Bam Margera first rose to prominence in the early 2000s as an outlandish stuntman in the MTV reality stunt show, Jackass. Since then, he has evolved into one of the most recognizable faces on television. Despite his career success, Bam's life hasn't been free from challenges.

The past week was arguably one of the most challenging for Bam as he had to battle two potentially deadly diseases and ended up being hospitalized. Thankfully, he seems to be recovering just fine, as he was recently discharged from the hospital.

Here are the details.

Out Of The Hospital

On December 10, 2022, Bam took to Instagram to share the news of his hospital release. The television personality posted a picture of himself looking in good spirits while posing next to his friend. Bam accompanied the post with the caption "I'm Out," alongside some words of gratitude to his friends, family and fans for the support and prayers, praying hands and purple heart emojis.

Bam's Family Gives Update On His Health

A day before Bam's post, the stuntman's family shared a statement on his Instagram account, confirming his hospitalization and assuring fans that he would soon be discharged. The statement noted that Bam was recently hospitalized, but fortunately, he was receiving treatment for pneumonia while testing negative for the coronavirus.

Also, the reality TV star's family confessed that he was on the road to recovery, adding that Bam would be leaving the hospital soon. They further thanked the fans and asked for more positive prayers. Not long after, Bam's millions of followers filled the comments section with good wishes.

Inside His Recent Health Scare

Last week, Bam was admitted to a San Diego hospital after he contracted pneumonia. Things only got worse for the skateboarder as he also tested positive for coronavirus while at the facility. According to a report from TMZ, Bam's condition became very critical to the point that he was placed on a ventilator in the ICU. Thankfully, he survived the battle and can hopefully return to his rehab program.

Bam has been open about his struggles with addiction in the past, once revealing that his dependence on painkillers and Adderall were a result of his dangerous stunts. Due to his drug addiction, Bam has been in rehab multiple times for substance abuse, but sadly, it has not always ended well.

In September 2022, he abandoned treatment at a court-ordered treatment facility. It was not the first incident of Bam leaving rehab, as he had previously disappeared from the facility twice over the summer. Now, following Bam's recovery from his health scare, family, friends, and fans are positive that he can turn his life around.
