Austin Butler is set to host this weekend's Saturday Night Live Show on the 17th of December. Still, he isn't going ahead without reaching out to his fellow Dune co-stars Christopher Walken and Timothée Chalamet about the hosting gig. The 31-year-old actor admitted he might not have accepted the role if he hadn't talked to several of his co-stars first.

In a recent interview, he talked openly about the decision-making procedure.

Austin Turned To His Set Friends For Advice

In an episode of Happy Sad Confused podcast, Butler revealed why he needed to consult his Dune colleagues; thankfully, they encouraged him to give it a shot.

"I picked a lot of people's brains about it already, When I was trying to decide if I was actually going to say yes to it — it just felt so much easier to just go, 'No.' I asked Timmy about it and I asked Christopher Walken, and Chris just told me, 'You gotta do it!'" Butler said. "Once I sort of committed to that, then I've just been so excited."

The Hollywood actor confessed to being a fan of the program and the musical guests who would appear in this episode, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Given that he has long been a fan of the program, it is obvious how thrilled he is to be hosting it. Hosting the program must rank among Butler's 2022 accomplishments.

We don't know what to anticipate from the 31-year-old celebrity with his presenting role because he hasn't done it before. But that's why we're here—to witness what he performs that day on stage.

"I was so shy when I was younger, and I still am, but now I just have tools to sort of deal with it," he explained. "But I would break out of my shell when I would make my grandma laugh or my mom laugh and just do silly voices and faces, so this is going back to that."

On Becoming Friends

The Elvis star has been busy with several intriguing upcoming projects, including a significant role in Denis Villeneuve's eagerly anticipated Dune: Part 2. Butler also recently explained why he and Timothée Chalamet, the franchise's lead, became close during the sequel filming.

Everyone is waiting to see what he does with Part 2, which includes established stars like Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Austin Butler. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor discussed in detail in the podcast his close friendship with Timothée Chalamet while exploring Arrakis, as he stated.

'Dune' The Movie

One of the most eagerly anticipated films to be released in 2023 is Dune: Part Two, directed by Denis Villeneuve. The sequel started filming in June of this year following the commercial and critical success of Part One. We anticipate an exceptional performance for the trio, who became friends on-site.
