There’s even a scientific reason behind this affection. “Some dogs, female dogs in particular, might bond with something that’s like a surrogate for a puppy,” Erika Loftin, veterinarian and critical care specialist at DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital , told The Dodo . “They mother it, they carry it around, and they get attached to it that way.”

The sweet golden retriever was just playing with his toy when it suddenly came to life! While it sounds like the plot of Toy Story , it was actually his owner who got the exact costume.
The dog went nuts! He stood up slowly, tip-toed over, and then gave his real-life toy lots of kisses and hugs. At one point, he even tackled him to the ground!

TikTok user @monte_the_golden posted the most adorable video of her golden retriever. “My dog when he matches his favorite toy,” the text overlay read. The video showed her dog in absolute bliss while wearing the same blue collar as his toy.
