Airline Passenger Forced To Pay $100 Fee Despite Carry-On Fitting In Baggage Dimension Checker

In it, the user explains that "Frontier's checking everyone's bags to make sure they'll fit in the little box," referring to the dimension checker. If they don't fit, as he continues, passengers will have to pay a $100 fee.

The next clip shows a man putting his carry-on into the checker, and pushes it minimally to get it in. Despite the fact that it ends up fitting, he's still required to pay the fine. He argues a bit with the gate agent before the clip ends, switching to one where a manager is talking with the man.

"So the fact that you had to embarrass my agent in front of everybody," the manager begins before demanding that the passenger apologize to the gate agent. The TikTok user, through text overlay on the screen, confirms that he didn't do anything disrespectful.

The comment section was full of people who decided that those random fees just aren't worth going for a less expensive airline. Plenty of commenters expressed how much they'd rather pay more to fly with another airline, than to go with Frontier ever again.

One commenter added that Frontier Airlines has been fined recently by the Department of Transportation. An SFGate article from November 16th of this year reports that the Department of Transportation fined the airline $2 million for "trickery," after they failed to issue refunds to customers during the pandemic.

Whether this is a one-time thing or a common occurrence with the airline, many users took the TikTok as a warning against flying with Frontier.
