Johnny Depp just finished putting one of the biggest lawsuits in Hollywood history behind him. It’s unlikely that he will want to go up in front of a jury anytime soon.

Keeping that in mind, Depp is prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure any lawsuits coming his way can be settled out of court.

Johnny Depp Punched A Crew Member Twice

During the shooting of City of Lies in 2017, Depp entered an altercation with the location manager about permit extensions.

It so happens that the location manager informed Depp that the two permit extensions that were obtained to allow late-night shooting were about to expire. Hence, the location manager told Depp that he could only do one more take for the scene.

This infuriated Depp, and he allegedly ended up punching him on his lower rib cage twice.

As reported by RollingStone, Depp yelled, “Who the fuck are you? You have no right to tell me what to do. I don’t give a fuck who you are, and you can’t tell me what to do!”

Gregg Brooks Filed A Lawsuit Against Johnny Depp

In 2018, Gregg Brooks, the location manager, filed a complaint against the Hollywood actor. The complaint revealed that Johnny Depp forcefully struck him twice on the lower rib cage. Additionally, Depp’s breath was reeking of alcohol.

Finally, it revealed that Depp wanted Brooks to fight back, and when the latter refused, the former yelled, “I will give you $100,000 to punch me in the face right now.”

Johnny Depp And Gregg Brooks Settled Out Of Court

After years of delays, the hearing was scheduled to begin on July 25th, 2022. However, on July 12th, 2022, Gregg Brooks’ lawyer sent a notice of the settlement to the judge, right before the pre-trial.

The settlement notice revealed: The settlement agreement conditions dismissal of this matter on the satisfactory completion of specified terms.”

The next step in the process is for the final dismissal request to be filed by January 5th, 2023.

After the infamous defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp has finally returned to the industry to make more films.

Reportedly, he will be playing the role of Louis XV in the upcoming production, Jeanne du Barry

The Pirates of the Caribbean team is also apparently trying to get him back on board after they dropped him from the franchise when Amber Heard’s domestic abuse allegations against Depp initially surfaced.
