Earlier this week, Katy Perry fans concerned about the singer after a video of her "malfunctioning eye" went viral. While performing a recent concert, the 38-year-old had difficulty keeping her right eye open for a few suspenseful moments.
Fans watched as the "Firework" singer tried to resolve the issue a number of times before resuming her setlist.
Now, the "Swish Swish" singer is speaking out.
In the video, shared by TikTok account @katyperrydaily, fans watched as the singer's right eye refused to open for several seconds.
After a few moments, everything was back to normal and the show went on as planned.
Of course, a video of Katy's eye "malfunction" was soon posted on social media, and fans were immediately concerned.
"Omg that happens when you’re stressed. Or tired and those lashes get heavy," speculated another.
"my eye twitches from stress sometimes...it could be that, it usually only triggers one eye and is hard to control ur eyelid while it's happening," said a different user.
Reposting the video on her Instagram, the 38-year-old explained what exactly happened that night.
"The show’s set list is a fun through memory lane going all the way back to 2008, a time when we weren’t all frozen by the paranoia of our own echo chambers!"
"Hope to sing along with you in 2023! And we’ll drink, this one’s on me, cause we’re all #chainedtothealgorithm," she concluded.
