'House Of The Dragon': Facts About Emma D’Arcy Fans Should Know

A lot has taken place in only six episodes thus far in House of the Dragon. Old alliances have been broken, new friendships have formed, and the timeline has skipped ahead some 10 years.

With a leap forward in time comes the addition of several new cast members, including Emma D'Arcy, who plays Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. So in order to become better acquainted and welcome them into the fold, here are some facts about Emma D'Arcy fans should know.

Emma's audition process was incredibly long and drawn out.

Showrunners were very particular about whom they wanted to be cast in the elder role of Princess Rhaenyra. All in all, Emma had to audition multiple times over a three-month-long period.

Their drink of choice is a refreshing Italian classic.

Emma prefers to unwind with a Negroni Sbagliato. You can make it by combining one-and-a-half ounces. of sweet vermouth, with one-and-a-half ounces of Campari, and then add your preferred amount of Prosecco.

They secretly wishes that they could speak one of the five major romance languages.

Emma has stated that they would love to be able to speak Italian. They say there's just something about the dialect that sounds like music to their ears.

If Emma's aspirations to be an actor didn't work out, they would still want to be involved in the world of cinema.

While playing a game of "Knowing Me, Knowing You" for Elle, Olivia revealed that they always wanted to be a director of photography.

Their favorite emoticon is devilishly cute.

Emma was asked to name the emoticon that best represented them. Without much hesitation, they answered, "That like, Devil-y one, that's sort of...grinning? Somewhere between a devil and a mask, but it's got a really maniacal smile."

Emma has ideas for what their own sigil would look like in the real world.

Emma feels that their spirit animal would be a squirrel, as they remind them of their grandmother. They also love a good strong head of cabbage.

They have a strong idea of what Princess Rhaenyra's life might look like, had she not been high-born.

According to Emma, they believe strongly that Rhaenyra would've been involved in the skilled trades, and would have more than likely been a blacksmith.

Emma was incredibly nervous to meet one of their co-stars.

The first time Emma ever met Matt Smith was when the two were filming on set. Prior to that, they had been a fan for years and confessed to finding him utterly brilliant.

They actually enjoyed learning how to speak High Valryian .

Emma wasn't just parroting the words, they actually took the time to understand the root meaning of the language. They achieved this by reading English translations of the texts, as well as by incorporating proper gestures with the script.

The best/worst piece of advice they have ever received is a little ironic.

According to an interview conducted by their co-star, Olivia Cooke, the worst piece of advice they have ever received is to "Follow your dreams." While the best piece of advice was, "Be careful what you wish for."

They have a natural flair for interior design.

Fans may be surprised to learn that Emma is quite adept at painting and decorating. They told Elle that if they ever started their own YouTube channel, it would be filled with glossing tutorials.

Emma's favorite character from the original 'Game Of Thrones' series is both incredibly basic and wildly surprising.

When Emma was asked by Olivia Cooke to name their favorite GoT character, they reluctantly admitted that it was Tyrion Lannister. When pushed to dig deeper, they then revealed that their true favorite character(s) were the White Walkers.

There's one song in particular that Emma considers to be an anthem for their life.

Emma is a big fan of the South African/Canadian-based country singer, Orville Peck. Their favorite tune is Orville's country-twang cover of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way."

Emma would love a certain actor to narrate a documentary based on their life.

Just like the rest of us, Emma is partial to the honeysuckle-timbered voice of one Keanu Reeves. It's a pretty damn good choice if you ask me.

Their favorite 'GoT' mythical creature will most definitely surprise you.

Being that Emma plays a Targaryen Princess, you'd think that their answer would be fairly obvious. However, Emma is far more partial to Direwolves than they are to dragons.
