In a recent Instagram post wherein she's promoting her latest film, Jamie Lee slammed cosmetic procedures. She went as far as to say that they do nothing more than conceal reality and it's high time that we shift our focus and start celebrating natural beauty.
The Emmy-nominated actress first made a name for herself back in 1978, when she portrayed Laurie Strode in director John Carpenter's immortal horror classic — Halloween.

Jamie Lee goes on to list things like concealers, body-shapers, fillers — all things that are meant to misconstrue the realities surrounding women's bodies.
As Jamie Lee so poignantly put it, she's been sucking in her stomach since she was 11-years-old and has spent a lifetime trying to fit into someone else's standard of beauty.
Perhaps not-so-surprisingly, Jamie Lee said that she found the entire process incredibly freeing — both on a physical as well as on a creative level.
“The current trend of fillers and procedures, and this obsession with filtering, and the things that we do to adjust our appearance on Zoom are wiping out generations of beauty,” she argued.
“This word ‘anti-aging’ has to be struck," Jamie Lee said during an appearance at the Radically Reframing Aging Summit. "I am pro-aging.” The revered actress also added that she plans on aging intelligently and with dignity.
She wants to shift the focus toward "natural beauty" and work to remove the pressure for women to present themselves as perfect unblemished entities. Considering all that Jamie Lee has done and continues to do — it would appear that she's well on her way.
