There are many kids who have many different types of hobbies. Some kids like to color and draw. Others kids love sports and athletics. Then there are those who like to perform and sing and dance.
But, whatever our children's desires and hobbies are, true parents who love their kids support all of their dreams and hobbies wholeheartedly. That's what mom Tonya does in her TikTok videos, where she shows off her daughter and her incredible talent.
On her TikTok channel @middle.mom, Tonya shares videos about her life all the time. Recently, her daughter Kaia has become really popular online due to her passion for designing and making clothing. The 9-year-old shows off her amazing skills almost every day.
Kaia received fabric and a dress for Christmas, and apparently ever since then, all she could do is design dresses. She had been sewing since November 2021, the mom shared.
"Since she was young enough to pick out her own clothes she was always very meticulous about the items she would pick. She would always go over the top with accessories and she would mix and match things that didn’t make sense to me but would make sense after she put it on," the mom shared with the New York Post.
After Tonya began sharing photos and videos online of Kaia's projects, some gave Kaia ideas about using Disney princesses and characters as inspiration for some dresses and designs. She began making some based on some of her favorite Disney movies, like this one inspired by Princess Jasmine.
Like the Disney popularity and obsession with the movie Encanto, many said that Kaia should make a dress inspired by one of the film's incredible characters. But, Kaid decided to be even more original than that. She made a dress inspired by the actual home in the movie! How original!
From celebrities to influencers, many people are loving the videos Tonya shares of Kaia's designs on TikTok. Her Instagram page, Kaiaraedesigns, was born out of a request of many online who suggested that Tonya should help Kaia run her own Instagram page for her fashion.
Kaia caught the eye of fashion designer Vera Wang, who everyone knows is an icon in the industry. She commented on Tonya's TikTok page, and then, she sent Kaia a beautiful purple backpack and a handwritten note.
Tonya shared the note online, showing the kind words that Vera Wang had about her daughter's designs. The handwritten letter read "so excited to see you are already pursuing your dream of becoming a fashion designer! Congratulations and all good luck. Love Vera."
Nick Cannon also decided to hype up Kaia and her fashion designs by talking about it on his show and sharing the lovely letter Vera Wang had written the young designer. Tonya was obviously beaming with joy!
Clearly, Tonya is raising an amazing girl and through her love and support, Kaia is thriving and will go far. And, Tonya says she'll support her daughter with whatever she chooses, even if that means one day giving up on her fashion hobbies. We love it!
