Some of you may not have forgotten (if it’s part of your favorite movie series or something) but most of you probably didn’t know that these movies are getting sequels in 2020!
Or, in the very least, new additions to their franchises.

So let’s dive right in and do some reminding!
1. ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’
Yet another sequel in The Conjuring franchise (a franchise that for the last couple of years has been threatening to become a cinematic universe).
So what to expect this time around?
We’ll see the return of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga
The paranormal investigators/authors Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Also, we hear it’s going to be about the first time in U.S. history that someone used demonic possession as a defense.
2. ‘Death On The Nile’
It seems that we’re seeing a resurgence of “whodunnits” with Knives Out , Murder on the Orient Express and a sequel to the ladder, Death On The Nile . It sounds like fun!
3. ‘Coming 2 America’
We loved him in Dolemite Is My Name this year, so it’s going to be really cool to see him in a sequel to one of his most critically acclaimed hits.
4. ‘Halloween Kills’
Yes, this year will be yet another year with a Halloween movie in it.
So 2018’s _ Halloween_ was actually supposed to be a sequel to the first one, now this one is a sequel to that sequel.
Uh-huh.
5. ‘Legally Blonde 3’
After years and years of waiting, we’re finally going to get to see another Legally Blonde this year.
Rumor has it that Elle is going to be a Supreme Court Justice in this one.
6. ‘The Matrix 4’
It’s going to be a fairly Keanu Reeves filled year, with this and some other movie starring him coming out.
My prediction for this one: there will be a lot of leather and the sequel name will start with “R”.
7. ‘Escape Room 2’
They kind of set themselves up for a sequel after the first one, so this was to be expected.
Then again, it was hard to remember the first movie, so how could we remember a sequel?
8. ‘The Croods 2’
Family-friendly pictures are big money, so it’s no wonder they’re bringing back this 2013… gem.
Even cast members who have gone on to much better things are returning for the sequel, like Ryan Reynolds and Emma Stone.
9. ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’
Wow, that title is a mouthful! Who would have thought that this movie, one of the most disposable comedies of all time, would be getting a sequel?
It looks like this time around Salma Hayek needs protection! Neat!
10. ‘Minions: The Rise Of Gru’
No, this isn’t a sequel to Despicable Me , but rather a sequel to the spinoff of the Despicable Me franchise, Minions .
Oh yes, those yellow things your aunt always posts on Facebook are getting another movie.
11. ‘The Purge 5’
Yes, it seems we’ll be getting yet another Purge movie this year.
The first Purge movie was an interesting idea that we’ve always wanted to see on screen… and then they made three more.
This will be attempt no. 5.
And nobody really knows what it’s going to be about, but what we do know is that 1) it’s coming out this year and 2) it’s been rumored to be the last one in the series.
12. ‘Bill & Ted Face The Music’
We here at Diply have known about this one for a while, but some of you might not know that Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure is getting a sequel this year!
And it’s going to feature their daughters!
