Back to school season is upon us as the summer is winding down to an end. While many of us are stuck wondering what this school year will look like in the midst of a global pandemic, there are parents around the world who still wish to commemorate the school year with their kids— whether they will be attending in-person sessions or remotely. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate your kid’s new school year, here are some pretty unique and fun ways!
Get colorful.
Get colorful with some of their signs and meanings. These three girls have all of their likes, dislikes, and big plans for the school year all mapped out in bright colors.
Be honest with your photos.
Remote learning is the answer for many students this year due to the coronavirus. Showcase the memories for your kids to look back on by capturing a photo that reflects how school will actually look for them this year. It might be fun to take a photo in their home school environment instead of the more traditional options.
Use a simple sign to celebrate the year.
Use a simple sign to showcase the grade level they are entering and make it unique to them! These kids have it made at home, and parents who will celebrate all the little moments along the way.
Use a whiteboard.
Make a nice handwritten message on a whiteboard for your kids. You can even change up the message and get a few photos with different messages across it for a photo series.
Go with a theme!
This mom decided to make her son’s sign “themed” due to COVID-19. She made sure that it showcased the truth behind the 2020-2021 school year in which they are “still quarantined.”
Go with the “school” symbols.
An apple, a pencil, a notebook — you know what I’m talking about. We all know and love those classic “school symbols”. Make your sign with one of these items and it’ll be right on-brand for the school year.
Keep it basic, but classic!
Instead of going all out with too many words, you can keep it simple by just having a “first day of school” sign for your kids. Plus, it’s totally reusable for years to come.
Make it a banner.
Make the grade, words, or name into a banner they can hold up for photos. And, you can even hang it on the wall for everyone to see! Special and sweet.
Hop in the photos with your kids!
Celebrate the first day of school with them by your sides by hopping into the photos alongside them. It’s nice to have the memories with you in the photos, too.
Make the sign into a shirt.
Instead of holding up a sign, why not make a custom T-shirt to wear on the first day? It’s unique and cute for your kids and you can even get different styles or shapes on them.
Set the scene!
Use a background that is perfect for the first day of school by taking a picture in front of a school bus! This looks professional and amazing.
