Do you ever take a moment to reflect on what might have been? How different your life might look had certain outcomes gone the other way?
The same can be said about Hollywood and our favorite movies and actors. Here are 10+ celebs who almost played famous movie roles.
Ben Affleck was supposed to be in *Clueless*.
Can you imagine a world where Ben Affleck and not Paul Rudd is the love interest for Cher? I can’t.
However, according to casting director Carrie Frazier , it nearly happened.
Eddie Redmayne was supposed to be in *Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens*.
From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I can see how Eddie Redmayne could have handled the role.
But Kylo Ren without the voice of Adam Driver? It couldn’t happen.
Millie Bobby Brown was supposed to be in *Logan*.
There are so many similarities between Millie Bobby Brown and actress Dafne Keen it’s uncanny.
I for one think Millie would have done an amazing job as X-23.
Gwen Stefani was supposed to be in *Mr. & Mrs. Smith*.
Thank goodness this didn’t happen!
Where would the world be without our favorite celebrity couple Brangelina? I shudder at the thought.
Cate Blanchett was supposed to be in *Closer*.
According to an interview that Julia Roberts gave with EW, the only reason Cate didn’t get the job was that she was pregnant at the time.
Emma Watson was supposed to be in *La La Land*.
The actress commented, “It’s one of these frustrating things where sort of names get attached to projects very early on as a way to kind of build anticipation or excitement for something that’s coming before anything is really actually agreed or set in stone.”
Miles Teller was supposed to be in *La La Land*.
According to an interview he gave with Esquire , Miles was offered the role initially but was then cast aside for Ryan Gosling.
Scarlett Johansson was supposed to be in *Jumanji*.
I can’t even imagine how much different my childhood would have looked if ScarJo ended up beating out Kirsten Dunst for her role in Jumanji .
John Krasinksi was supposed to be in *Captain America: The First Avenger*.
At the time, no one would have given John Krasinksi a second thought. But now that he’s packed on all that Jack Ryan muscle, things are different.
Fingers crossed we still see him in the MCU!
Matthew McConaughey was supposed to be in *Titanic*.
I just can’t picture this, no matter how hard I try.
Although I admit, I’d much rather have heard Jack exclaim “Alright, alright, alright” as opposed to “I’m King of the world!”
Tom Hiddleston was supposed to be in *Thor*.
When Tom Hiddleston first auditioned for Thor it was to play the God of Thunder , not Loki.
I think they made the right choice.
Jennifer Lawrence was supposed to be in *Twilight*.
Now, this seems like a big missed opportunity.
Nothing against Kristen Stewart but Jennifer Lawrence would have made an incredible Bella Swan . Don’t you think?
Mindy Kaling was supposed to be in*Bridesmaids*.
I love Maya Rudolph more than words can say, but picturing Mindy Kaling in Bridesmaids is just hilarious!
The chemistry between her and Kristen Wiig would have been incredible.
OJ Simpson was supposed to be in *The Terminator*.
Would it surprise you to learn that the reason why James Cameron passed on casting OJ Simpson in the role of The Terminator was because of his likability and general good nature as a human?
It surprised me.
Emily Blunt in *Iron Man 2*.
According to sources, the role was Emily’s to have.
Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts , she had to bow out and the role was given to Scarlett Johansson.
