Woman Shares The Hilariously Excessive Notes Her Airbnb's Owner Left For Her

In recent years, we've seen a rise in travelers forgoing the traditional hotel experience in favor of Airbnbs run by regular folks.

But while these can sometimes be cheaper and bring you closer to the parts of a city you really want to see, they're also a little more unpredictable than hotels tend to be.

After all, how many hotel rooms are perched right next to a restaurant's dining room or let hoarders have free rein to stack junk all over the place?

Still, even the creepiest Airbnbs can leave people with an unforgettable experience. And as we'll see from one woman's TikTok, it's more funny than annoying when your host's eccentricities don't leave you feeling unsafe.

On December 12, a woman who goes by Authentiffany uploaded a TikTok showing how many "hilarious yet controlling quirks" her Airbnb had in store for her.

Although she was renting a room in a house where the owners was present, she noticed that she had a note explaining just about everything in the room.

That said, we can say the owner set the tone early because this was the first thing Tiffany saw before she stepped into her room.

I'm not sure how they're even supposed to enforce the rule that people can't smoke outside.

You'll quickly notice that genuinely useful information like bathroom locations, parking hours, and information about quiet hours were interspersed with more bizarre information like explaining how a door works.

To Tiffany's amusement, there didn't seem to be a part of the room that was considered too obvious to require a note.

And if you thought that slip on the door was the only part that laid out the owner's rules, you should see what else was written down.

Some of them made sense — like the ones covering checkout times and how they treat common mishaps — but others just seemed overly specific for no good reason.

And it seems the owner makes a habit of adding more notes, as Tiffany learned when she decided to drink out of this glass.

In her words, "My top top favorite was when she saw me using this cup instead of this cup and told me I'm using the wrong cup to drink my water."

As for why it matters, the cup she was holding here was apparently intended for her toothbrush.

She also learned that she was supposed to pull the shower curtain from right to left instead of from left to right. Unfortunately, the reasoning behind that will have to remain a mystery.

With all this in mind, it's hardly a surprise that Tiffany ended her video by saying, "I hope I slept here correctly."

That said, she mentioned in a follow-up video that her stay was ultimately positive and she had no intention to disrespecting the woman running the Airbnb. She just thought it was a funny and unique experience.

In that video, she also shared that the woman's seemingly obsessive attention to detail came in handy at times, especially when it came to finding the place.

There's two sides to every coin, as they say.
