Getting a tattoo can be a big decision for some. It’s a permanent fixture on one’s body, so many put a lot of thought into what they’re going to get before they get it!
Picking a subject, a design, an artist, it all leads up to what hopefully becomes the perfect tattoo. It doesn’t always turn out exactly right. In fact, sometimes, it comes out very, very wrong .

Memorial tattoos are very common for people to get.
Getting a beautiful piece of art on you is a lovely way to pay tribute to somebody and honor them. However, like anything, there’s no guarantee that the tattoo is going to come out as you hoped.
In fact, it could look like something completely different than what you wanted.
That’s what happened to TikTok user @bekah.milly.
She uploaded a video with on-screen text that reads, “When someone says your new tattoo looks like a girl eating a$S.”
She shows the tattoo first, then turns towards the camera looking emotional. The audio that she lip syncs over says, “Listen, It’s a good joke. It’s a great joke, even, but I need you to stop anyway.”
The comments were quickly filled with people debating the tattoo.
The comments seemed split between people who saw the raunchier image first, and those who saw the true one first.
“[…] can’t unsee it now. Just. Can’t. What was it supposed to be?” Asks one comment.
“I didn’t read the story my first look I interpreted a loss of someone dear… like an empty hug. What happened to if you can’t say anything nice?” Said another.
Bekah has posted a few follow-up videos since then.
She does clarify that it is meant to be someone hugging a silhouette of someone else, representing her hugging her guardian angels, specifically her grandmother who passed.
Many jokes came in asking where those guardian angels were when she was getting the tattoo done.
She also showed the original reference that she gave to her artist.
Some in the comments argued that the reference looks even more like the misinterpreted image than the tattoo she ended up getting.
“Yours actually looks less like ‘it’ than the reference,” read one response, “But still… it’s easy to fix if you want to […].”
She seemed to take that advice, seeing as the original video’s comments also had plenty of fix-it suggestions.
In another TikTok, she announced that she’ll be hosting a contest of sorts and taking suggestions on how to fix her tattoo.
“I have gotten so many comments on how to fix my tattoo, so I might as well just lean in to it! So if you have a good idea on how to fix my tattoo, I’m going to put the tattoo on the screen, screenshot it, draw on what you think I should do […].”
Though she has a few limits.
“I’m not going to do a full cover-up… that’s just… no.”
She asked people to send their submissions to her Instagram DMs. She’ll get the one she likes best done and will shout out the person who suggested it.
She finishes the video with this: “For those of you asking to donate to my tattoo fund to get it fixed, my Venmo is in my bio but there’s no promises that money won’t go straight to coffee. I’m not a perfect person.”
