Nobody enjoys the feeling of being ” ghosted .” More often than not, you never see it coming and it can leave you feeling upset, depressed, and totally insecure.
Recently, after TikTok user @princessneeyyneeyy was ghosted on Snapchat, she wound up running into the guy while out at a restaurant for lunch — and decided to get back at him in the pettiest way imaginable.
Being single and trying to date in a post-pandemic world can be incredibly stressful.

More than ever before, it’s a dog-eat-dog world out there. With COVID restrictions abound, even something as simple as meeting up for a casual drink becomes all the more difficult.
This has forced the vast majority of single hopefuls to resort to alternative measures of socializing.

Remember when online dating first became a “thing” and people were being ridiculed for meeting their prospective partner online? Well, who’s laughing now?! Zoom dates and other virtual mediums have quite literally become the new normal.
That’s not to say that virtual dating doesn’t come with its own set of obstacles.

Zoom dates and virtual hangouts are a great way to break the ice, but they also have their drawbacks. After a handful of Zoom dates, with no physical meetup on the horizon, you can begin to feel as if you’re plateauing.
Unfortunately, what this often leads to is mass “ghosting.”

Ghosting is a term that’s used to describe a situation wherein a person abruptly stops talking or interacting with a person they’d previously been chatting with. Being on the receiving end can be incredibly hurtful and difficult to come to terms with.
Sadly, this is a reality that TikTok user @princessneeyyneeyy is all too familiar with.

@princessneeyyneeyy (Sydney in real life) had recently begun chatting and interacting over Snapchat with a guy named Matt. In the beginning, things were going great. But then all of a sudden, Matt up and disappeared.
Wanting to take her mind off of things, Sydney decided to grab a bite at her local Texas Roadhouse.

After Sydney was shown to her seat, she waited patiently for her server to come and take her order. That’s when she discovered that her waiter was none other than Matt — the guy who had previously “ghosted” her.
As you can undoubtedly imagine, awkwardness quickly ensued.

Sydney knew that she had to come up with a plan to get sweet revenge on the man who had embarrassed her and hurt her feelings. So she decided to hit him where it hurts — in his wallet.
In her TikTok video, Sydney wrote a caption “When the guy who ghosted you is your waiter at lunch.”

Sydney then zoomed in on the TIP portion of her bill, revealing that she’d written a big fat 0. “I usually tip, but I’m petty,” Sydney wrote.
At the bottom of her bill, Sydney wrote in pink ink, “P.S. Thanks for blocking me on Snap!”

Sydney’s video has since gone on to receive more than 163K plays on TikTok. Not surprisingly, her actions have caused quite a divide among many of her followers and fellow TikTokers.
Plenty of people supported Sydney and reassured her that they would’ve done the same thing.

“No tip! None zero we’re done” wrote one TikTok user . “I would’ve ran[sic] out on the tab.”
“The tip would be to grow a set and tell people how you feel instead of blocking people,” said @itsgonnabemaeeee
Others, however, felt that Sydney was playing into Matt’s hand and validating his actions.
“Honestly this probably just reassured him that he made the right decision in ghosting you,” @jasmin96011 said.
Nobody enjoys being petty, but sometimes pettiness is the only thing that allows us to keep our sanity. I’m not saying I condone it, but I do understand it.
