There are many things we do when we have a baby to help and protect our little ones . Many parents go through trial and error to find out the best ways to care for their kids .
Unfortunately, parenting happens to be a job you don’t know how to do until you are thrown out into the chaos of it all and are actually parenting .
Many parents come up with hacks that make everyday life much easier than before.

When we have kids and we need ways to keep them safe and sound, we come up with some crazy inventions and wild ideas in order to do so.
Recently, one Instagram user shared a pretty clever hack to keep their little one safe in their crib.

Instagram user and mom Tia shared that in their house, they have mason jars at the legs of their baby crib. Many people were pretty confused.
At first, it seems a bit dangerous.

The weight of the crib on top of the mason jar made a few people nervous. However, Tia explained just why it works and it’s a great idea to do for those who need it.
In her caption, she explained that the mason jars protect her baby from scorpions.
“Maybe it’s because I’m Canadian and never grew up with these things, but I am terrified of them! It’s my worst nightmare to get stung by one & I would lose it if Diggs got stung,” she wrote.
As it turns out, scorpions cannot climb certain surfaces.
“Scorpions CANNOT climb smooth surfaces like glass or plastic, so we have taken an extra step of precaution and put mason jars on Diggy’s crib legs so there is no possibility of a scorpion getting in his crib,” she continued.
Tia shared that there are a ton of scorpions near her.
“Am I crazy? Maybe… but my dad comes over 2-3 times a week to go scorpion hunting in our backyard and his record is 44 in ONE NIGHT!!! I’m not taking any chances,” she wrote.
Many people online thought this was a great idea.

Those who live in areas that are also pretty overrun with scorpions shared that this idea is genius and a great way to prevent the dangers of scorpions climbing into her son’s bed.
Some were a bit concerned.

“It doesn’t look like the legs of the crib touch the bottom of the jar. Does that mean that the full weight of a crib and the baby inside it is resting on the mouth of a glass jar? Is that safer to have glass possibly explode,” asked one person.
However, some shared some other tips.

Some users shared that scorpions happen to be great climbers—especially on the wall. Many moms commented on Tia’s post saying to make sure the crib is not against any walls in the nursery or bedroom.
Another user shared they drop down, too.

One other mom shared that scorpions also happen to climb up into air vents, and they can “drop down” from them, too. So, your crib should definitely not be under a vent at all.
Above all, everyone shared you can “never be too careful” with scorpions.

While many thought that Tia’s idea was either genius or dangerous, they all agreed on one thing—scorpions are dangerous and cannot be taken lightly. They can hide just about anywhere in your home and when you step on them—it’s a problem.
