As a parent, it’s hard enough to accept that your child is ill. But what if your child is terminally ill? This is the heartbreaking situation a father recently posted on Reddit’s “Am I The A**hole?” forum.
After the father found out his 16-year-old daughter had a late-stage form of brain cancer, he and his wife searched for a cure. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find one and their daughter knew her survival was not likely. The daughter then admitted to her parents that she had been using marijuana, an elf-bar vape, and Tito’s Vodka for about a month.
Since the father himself uses these substances, he thought he could make an exception for his daughter. The father and wife agreed to allow her to use these substances with his supervision, but the wife remains adamant the daughter shouldn’t be doing them at all.
The father is now asking Reddit users: Is he the A**hole?

What would you do if your terminal daughter wanted to try smoking and drinking?
A father and his wife recently found out their 16-year-old daughter had a late-stage form of brain cancer and likely wouldn’t survive past 18. When they found marijuana, a vape, and vodka in her bedroom, she confessed to using these substances for about a month.
The father, a user of these substances himself, thought he could make an exception due to the circumstances, but his wife disagrees. The couple had a conversation and concluded that she would be allowed to do these things under her father’s supervision.
So, the father is now wondering if he is the a**hole for wanting to make an exception in this situation .
