Late American singer and rapper Aaron Carter ‘s final autopsy report, released on April 14th, reveals the actual cause of his death. A statement from the Los Angeles medical unit states there was more than to the initial drowning story of the singer.
Bathtub Accident

On November 5th, 2022, Aaron Carter was found dead in his bathtub in his Los Angeles home. It has been revealed in a statement from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner that the cause of death is related to his prior use of Xanax and difluoroethane — an aerosol propellant in spray cans.
Found Submerged

The 34-year-old singer was found by his housekeeper to have been fully submerged in his bathtub at his Lancaster home.
Time of Death

After the housekeeper called 911 and was given instructions on CPR, paramedics arrived at the scene and declared Carter dead at 11:14 am.
Autopsy Report

The final autopsy report for Aaron Carter’s case reads:
His Previous Diagnosis

Three years before his passing, Carter had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, anxiety, and schizophrenia and was on constant medication for the illnesses.
Concerns of Drug Misuse

Carter’s fiancé and mother had called upon law enforcement to investigate his misuse of drugs days before his passing in November. According to reports, they were concerned about his addiction and wanted to help.
Welfare Checks

A week before his death, his fiancé, Melanie Martin asked the L.A. county sheriff to conduct welfare checks. She “believed he was under the influence while driving his RV.” Deputies made contact with Carter at the time, but his DUI test proved otherwise.
The Final Check Up

On the day of rapper Carter’s passing, county deputies responded to routine checks after having reports of him huffing on Instagram Live. Sadly, upon arriving at Carter’s home, the singer greeted them harshly and “yelled at them to get out from the stairs.”
An Appointment Missed

Reports from law enforcement say the singer missed his regular check-in with his drug counselor “without any explanation” in the evening before his death.
Never Suicidal

After his death and the initial autopsy report came to light on November 6th, Carter’s mother and fiancé told the coroner’s office that the singer had never been suicidal.
Drug Addict Not Suicidal

In an interview with TMZ Live in March, Carter’s mother, Jane, stated that the singer would not intentionally cause harm to himself. She said, “He was an addict, but I don’t think he wanted to die. I don’t think he would have been doing that much of that aerosol.”
Tribute From Nick
After the announcement of Carter’s death, his estranged brother, Nick Carter, shared a photo of him and Aaron on his Instagram. He captioned the post with, “My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded.”
He added, “Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.”
Twin Love
Aaron Carter’s twin, Angel, also shared a tribute post on her Instagram to her brother. “To my twin… I loved you beyond measure. You will be missed dearly. My funny, sweet Aaron,I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them. I know you’re at peace now. I will carry you with me until the day I die and get to see you again. “
Dealing With A Passing In The Family

A source close to the late singer revealed at the time that Carter had still been struggling with the deaths of several of his family members. “Aaron never really dealt with a lot of trauma he had. He was really torn up when Leslie died, but it was Bob’s death that really threw him,” the source said.
It Never Brought Closure To Melanie

Melanie Martin, Carter’s fiancé and mother to his child, told media outlets that the autopsy report didn’t bring any closure. “It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which doesn’t make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on?”
Suspicious Passing

Although the initial autopsy report had been given, Melanie believed there was more to his passing than drug abuse and drowning.
The Threatening

Melanie had turned in Carter’s phone to authorities when she saw threatening messages from an unnamed person having an $800 dispute with the singer. From the conversation, it was alleged that Carter no longer wanted the drugs he bought, and the seller insisted on getting his $800 payment.
His Mother’s Conspiracy

Jane Carter, the mother to the singer, also believes there was more to her son’s passing, as she suspects foul play. At the time, she shared images of the bathtub and home where her son died.
Possible Suspects

In Jane’s interview with TMZ Live last month, she stated that her late son had a “number of people” harassing him online, and she felt they could be the prime suspects of his death.
