Working Hours Are Too Long
The barista said Starbucks workers need a union before suggesting he might quit his job. According to his story, he cried about being overworked in an understaffed outlet, including weekends.
He said only four workers were on the floor, and the outlet had heavy traffic. Added to the other floor, the Starbucks outlet had only 13 workers, and the barista said the management didn’t care about the health or lives of the workers.
Reasons For A Starbucks Workers Union

He continued saying that the manager took time off instead of attending to his duties and giving moral support. The barista said,
“[They] don’t have fair scheduling and managers don’t care about [them]… He took himself off the schedule so he won’t be held accountable…”
The barista went on to explain why they needed a union including the need for fair scheduling, and the ability to turn off mobile orders when it gets overwhelming.
Things Got Personal When Some Customers Misgendered Him
Things got personal when the barista mentioned his gender, saying some customers misgendered him. He’s a transgender man with the pronouns “his/he/him,” but when he faltered on the orders, some customers allegedly said, “She’s incompetent,” despite seeing him with a full mustache and beard.
That triggered the barista into a bout of tears as he asked the company to give him accommodation for being neuro-divergent. He also didn’t get his sick day off, so making the video resulted from his breaking point.
