A Mother Gave Birth To Her Daughter Amid The Earthquake In Syria

The heartbreaking and unimaginable earthquake in Turkey-Syria claimed a lot of lives. Among the rescue stories was that of a pregnant woman who gave birth during the earthquake. Her newborn baby was rescued from the debris in the Syrian town of Jindires.
Her Umbilical Cord Was Still Attached To Her Late Mom
The newborn was a baby girl with her umbilical cord still attached to her dead mother. Afraa, who managed to give birth to her daughter, bearing both childbirth pains and other pains unfortunately died before rescue came.
The Infant Was In A Critical Condition

As DailyMail gathered, the baby was discovered by her uncle, Khalil al-Sawadi. After the umbilical cord was cut, another cousin rushed the newborn to the hospital. The baby had bruises and hypothermia but was tended to by Dr. Maarouf and is stable.
The Newborn’s Parents Did Not Make It
The story turned into a bitter-sweet moment when the lifeless bodies of the newborn’s parents, four siblings, and an aunt were found. They were all laid to rest in a neighbor’s home.
2-Month-Old Baby Rescued Among Others After Turkey-Syria Earthquake

Rescues are still going on after the Turkey-Syria earthquake. About 28,191 deaths have been confirmed in Turkey and Syria. Despite the despair, miracle rescues are still happening. Five days after the devastating earthquakes, a two-month-old baby was rescued from the rubble.
There Have Been More Survivors From The Rubble
Also, a 70-year-old woman was pulled out from the rubble in the southern city of Kahramanmaras. More rescues include a two-year-old girl and a six-month pregnant woman. Also, a father and his four-year-old daughter were among those that were rescued.

The United Nations revealed that many people in Turkey and Syria need meals. In Syria, about 5.3 million people became homeless. A total of almost 26 million people were affected by the earthquake.

Per The Hindu , the World Health Organization (WHO) launched a flash appeal for $42.8 million to cope with health needs. According to Turkey’s disaster agency, more than 32,000 people from Turkish organizations are working on rescue and search efforts.

In 2000, there was the story of the Mozambique floods and how a mother birthed her daughter on a tree. Rosita Mabuiango was born on a tree above water that was filled with crocodiles. The fearless mother, Chirindza, carried Rosita in her sarong and embraced her. They stayed there for four days without food or water before rescue helicopters arrived.
Another Story Showing A Mother’s Love

Another heart-melting story happened during the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004. Karin Svard ran towards her children who were playing beside the ocean when the waves approached. Unfortunately, she was washed up and died but her three sons, husband, and brother survived.

The 1953 January floods were recently commemorated in East Anglia. The storm destroyed the coast from Lincolnshire to Essex. More than 300 people died and about 40,000 became homeless. The official rescue action was slow, fortunately, lives were saved by community rescue efforts.
