The internet always has an opinion on things, and you can bet the good people of Twitter will be the first to tell you if you’re doing something wrong.
Remember that time everyone debated about the right way to cut toast or how well-done a marshmallow should be? Yeah, they’re pretty serious about food on there.
The latest debate to take over Twitter has to do with the way people eat the meat off their chicken wings and oh boy , it’s heating up.
Twitter user iHussle shared a now-viral chicken wing chart to his account and revealed he falls somewhere between #3 and #4.
As you can see, the level of eaten-ness drastically varies between wing #1 (a few nibbles) and wing #5 (the meat sucked clean off the bone). Just like with anything else food-related, the way you eat it, toast it, or slice it all comes down to personal preference.
But remember, this is the internet . And people definitely have opinions on this one.
Users were very quick to slam anyone who considers themselves a #1 wing eater.
“You ever eat with a 1 and you’re just sitting there annoyed?” one user asked, prompting another to reply, “Gotta remind myself that they’re mostly good people and this not the hill to kill a friendship on.”
Someone else got right to the point and said, “#1 people are definitely serial killers.”
Some people agreed with iHussle’s original #3 1/2 opinion, while others said anything below a #4 is “disrespectful.”
“It’s 5 or you’re eating like a baby,” this user wrote.
Someone else added, “I’m a 5 but I guess I’ll give a pass to 4’s. At least there was an attempt. 1-3’s are enemies of the state.”
Then there were those who admitted their chicken wing number depends on whether they’re eating alone or not.
“4 in the streets, 5 in the sheets,” this user quipped.
Considering the amount of people who agreed with these statements, it’s safe to say a lot of us play it cool when we’re in a group out in public but the minute we’re alone in the comfort of our own homes, we’re going to absolute destroy some chicken wings.
Even Chrissy Teigen couldn’t resist giving her opinion on the chicken wing debate.
In a followup tweet she went on to say that she doesn’t invite anyone below a 3 back to her house.
“Even my daughter knows better,” she wrote.
Notice how the chart only goes to 5? Well, some people came into the comments insisting they’re actually a 6.
Apparently, those people don’t just stop once they’ve cleaned the bone of all its meat.
“I’m a 6,” this user admitted . “The one where the bone is not only only cleaned but cracked in numerous places as I suck the marrow out.”
So after more than 3,000 people shared their wing preference, which wing came out the winner?
Honestly, I have no idea.
All I can tell for sure is that if you’re anything below a #3, get ready to be shunned by your peers because #1 and #2 appear to have been deemed the most unacceptable ways of eating wings.
Or just happily eat your wings in peace and remember that in the end, it’s all about personal preference.
