Little People, Big World star Tori Roloff has been open and honest about her second pregnancy, which she’s now reached the halfway mark of. Being her second child, Roloff has been sharing milestones on her Instagram page with fans and other mothers who may be going through some of the same struggles.
She recently opened up about how she’s been feeling a bit insecure during this pregnancy.
She wrote: “This pregnancy has been a lot harder on me than the last. Don’t get me wrong-I’ve been so lucky.”
Like a lot of moms, Tori struggled with her body image.
“I’m not sick (anymore) and I haven’t had any complications (thank the lord). However I have had a harder time accepting my body this go around.”
She explained how some people’s comments about her body have hurt her.
“I’ve gotten bigger a lot faster than I did with Jackson and I’ve become a lot more insecure. Hearing people ask me if I’m sure it’s not twins definitely does not help.”
Why do people think it’s okay to ask this!?
“(for all our sakes-don’t ever ask a woman this question. Like ever). It’s been hard to really enjoy this pregnancy because I’ve let my own body image issues get in the way. Us as women are so badass. Like we can grow babies.”
She shared an important message for all moms out there.
“And I know I need to give this up to God right and be thankful for this gift-and I’m trying trust me.”
She went on to share a body-positive message for all women out there.
“But for all those women out there-pregnant or not- you need to hear this just like I do: you’re beautiful, you’re strong, and dang it love yourself no matter what.”
It’s a message everyone needs to hear from time to time.
“I know someone besides just me needs to hear that today. So excuse me while I go try my best to live out these words and continue growing a freaking human being.”
Many moms wrote to Tori saying they were grateful for sharing her story.
One wrote: “Happened when I was pregnant with my first. At 6 months people were asking if I was “going to pop” and if t was twins, etc. it’s incredible the stupid stuff people say. Now I’m shocked by nothing. Unless someone says “congratulations you’re beautiful” don’t listen to them. Because, congratulations you ARE beautiful!”
And another added that the second time is always harder.
“It’s SO HARD!!! And the second time around is harder! You are beautiful mama, and your body is exactly what your babies need it to be!”
But, in an updated post with new photos, Tori shared she is feeling “much better.”
She said: “So I have yet to share one of these this go around. Sorry girlsie.”
Thankfully, Tori’s second trimester is going a bit better.
“I am currently 20 weeks! I’m feeling a lot better now than I did in my 1st trimester. My belly button never returned after Jackson and is becoming even less visible now.”
She shared a few other details about baby number two.
“I don’t really have cravings. Other than gummy bears (but honestly I love them with or without being preggo). I don’t think Jackson “gets it” but he loves checking his belly for baby.”
Tori also shared this cute fruit update.
“Baby girl is the size of a banana. Which is so fitting because Jackson is obsessed with bananas.”
She also thanked everyone for reaching out on her previous post, talking about her self image.
“I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who comment and messaged me about my post on self image. You all are so fricking sweet.”
Tori is building a great online community of supporters.
” I wasn’t looking for affirmation but y’all seriously gave it to me. That’s honestly what gives me confidence to post this.”
At the end of the day, she’s focusing on her kids.
“I’m trying to love the heck out of my body because dang it I’m proud to grow this baby girl.”
People commented on the post, adding to Tori’s love.
One user wrote: “One day you will look back on these phots and wonder why you couldn’t see it in the moment. I see strength, beauty, a complete display of genuineness and authenticity. Savor these pregnancy moments, these moments of youth. It’s a precious time in life.”
Tori and her husband, Zachary, announced their pregnancy back in May with family portraits.
The photos featured their son, Jackson, sporting a “Big Brother” shirt.
Tori and Zachary’s daughter is due in November.
