There is nothing like watching your child or grandchild carry on your family’s legacy. It’s such a special, unique expression of love and it’s so great watching families continue on in memory of a loved one.
Now, fans are getting to watch Aretha Franklin’s family legacy continue as her granddaughter recently auditioned for America Idol and completely rocked everyone’s world.
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost four years since the world lost one of the greatest voices of all time.

Aretha Franklin’s death in August 2018 was a monumental loss felt around the world for her friends, family, and fans.
Her 1972 album, Amazing Grace , has remained the biggest-selling live gospel album of all time for 40 years.
Now, the Queen of Soul’s granddaughter is continuing on her legacy and recently showed off her skills on “American Idol.”
Grace Franklin, Aretha’s granddaughter, left viewers in awe on Sunday night.
“I was really close to my grandma,” the teenager said.
“I got to see her all the time,” she continued.
“I used to travel with her a lot. I don’t think I could fully grasp the fact that she was known worldwide. Because to me, she was always just grandma.”
Grace’s performance was absolutely incredible and gave me and the judges goosebumps.
However, due to her age and shyness, Luke and Lionel voted no, leaving Katy Perry as the only one who voted to keep Grace in the competition.
I’m sure this is far from the end for Grace, and I can’t wait to hear her sing again soon!
