Have you ever had the feeling you were onto some sort of scam before the rest of the world caught on?
A TikToker has gone viral after showing the results of his informal investigation of a possibly sketchy tire shop.
Is it a vast conspiracy or just some kind of weird coincidence? We’ll let you be the judge.
How could a tire shop ensure repeat customers?

Good service obviously goes a long way, but if you want to go the evil route, what would you do?
Obviously, you could walk around slashing people’s tires. But a more passive way to ensure repeat customers would be to scatter sharp, tire-puncturing objects on the ground.
This TikToker is finding all kinds of sharp objects on the ground.

This isn’t terribly surprising, of course. All kinds of random debris can fall off of cars and trucks and wind up on the road. But TikToker @louieiv shared a video showing what he believes is an unusual amount of sharp stuff on the road.
The smoking gun?

Here’s a nail. By itself, it’s nothing. There are probably discarded nails lying pretty much anywhere you might look. So far, I’m not convinced. But there’s more.
The amount is ‘abnormal.’

I’m not sure what quantity of nails and screws on a roadway would constitute “normal,” let alone how many there’d have to be in order to escalate things to “abnormal.” But @louieiv is on the case, and he has more.
He said he thought nothing of it at first.

Understandably, most of us aren’t going to think much of a random nail or screw sitting around on the road. But if you’re traveling the same route every day, as @louieiv does, you start to notice patterns.
He’s only finding them in one place.

The TikToker says he’s been finding these sharp objects with regularity, and they’re always distributed behind one store. Assuming he’s a credible narrator, this really is starting to sound like it goes deeper than expected.
His camera then pans to the store the sharp stuff is found near.

We don’t want to say the @louieiv’s account is accurate or inaccurate, nor do we want to impugn the folks at Tires Plus Total Car Care. But it’s an interesting story, even as a dispassionate observer.
As @louieiv points out, it does, indeed, make one wonder.
Commenters are here for the drama.

Not too many commenters cast doubt on the story, instead opting to feast on the juicy drama. Is this a conspiracy by Big Tire to try to puncture our tires so we have to buy more stuff, or simply the result of random sharp stuff winding up on the road?
