Some bizarre incidents happened in the 2025 Grammys, and Jaden Smith’s headpiece made headlines.
Jaden Smith’s red carpet look sparked curiosity
The musician attended the 67th Grammy Awards to show support for his sister Willow and father, Will.
Jaden Smith suddenly became a hot topic during the 67th Grammy Awards on February 2, despite neither being nominated nor performing.
His outfit featured a striking custom headpiece

The 26-year-old walked the red carpet with his younger sister Willow Smith, who was nominated for her first Grammy, wearing a Louis Vuitton suit and an unusual headpiece.
Jaden soon sparked conversation online with his ABODI headpiece, which was a full black castle with many turrets that he wore like a helmet with his face peeping through the gate.
The design was inspired by Transylvanian history and vampire legends

The Romanian company posted on social media that the design, which costs slightly more than $4,600 at retail, was influenced by the history of Transylvania, particularly gothic architecture and vampire castles.
The brand describes the creative process behind the headpiece

Stating, “Jaden Smith wore ABODI’s iconic ‘Vampire Castle’ sculptural headpiece. We custom made the castle for his red carpet appearance at the Grammy Awards. The artistic headpiece combines the mysterious elegance of ABODI Transylvania with a bold, modern design inspired by Transylvanian history and the vampire legends of the Bathori.”
ABODI founder Dora Abodi speaks on her brand vision

According to the brand’s website, Dora Abodi draws inspiration from Transylvania’s mythology and folklore to respect her family’s deep connection to the country, and also commented on the edgy design.
She highlights the link between fashion, music, and creativity

To Abodi, the vampire castle headpiece represents strength and folklore. On February 2, she shared on the brand’s Instagram: “The fields of fashion and music are intended for enjoyment and the pursuit of creativity, allowing individuals to express themselves freely and experience life and art to the fullest
“The now famous ABODI Transylvania Vampire Castle serves as a symbol of audacity, fortitude, and an embrace of folklore and legends.”
Jaden Smith’s outfit choice reflected his personal authenticity
Ironically, Jaden has previously expressed his admiration and adoration for gothic and vampire culture, even going so far as to claim that he was once a vampire!
In a 2016 interview, he explained: “During a period of my life, I was Gothic. I was only wearing black, and I was hiding from the sun because I was a vampire.”
But that’s not Jaden’s first time raising eyebrows…

He attended his high school prom in 2015 wearing a white batsuit (which he later wore to Ye’s wedding).
Then, at the 2017 MET Gala, he went above and beyond by accessorizing with his own hair.
Jaden Smith actively chooses to be himself
He said, “I went through a lot of my life trying to be normal,” in an October interview with Complex.
“It was a really big deal for me for a long time that people thought that I was normal. And that bothered me after a while. I started to feel like people didn’t really understand me or see me.”
He added, “So I actively try to be myself.”
