The phrase is sure to be confusing for those of you who are not familiar with the phrase or have heard it but don’t quite understand it.
It first originated from the YouTube channel ‘DaFuq!?Boom!’ by artist Gerasimov who released the illustration in a YouTube short.
What inspired the animated illustration
The illustration of a man’s head coming out of a toilet seat was inspired by one of Gerasimov’s recurring nightmares.
The artist also edited the TikTok remix ‘Dom Dom Yes Yes’ onto the 11-second animated video, adding to its bizarreness.
It went mega viral
The short video racked up over 208 million views on YouTube and 20 billion views across related videos on TikTok.
More recently, the American media personality Kim Kardashian shared that she bought her daughter a diamond necklace with the phrase engraved on it.
What the illustrations have inspired
Gerasimov’s series of videos on skibidi toilet has further inspired a browser and app game where in a fantasy world, the toilet heads are an invasive alien species fighting people with mechanical bodies and screens for heads.
The emergence of the games has encouraged the YouTube channel to keep animating videos.
This became popular with the young generation
Kids in school today are clearly amused by the new internet phrase ‘skibidi toilet’ as they repeat it among themselves and in school for amusement.
Some teachers have found this disrupting to their class and have asked their students to stop saying the phrase mid-lesson.
One teacher’s solution
A teacher recently went viral on TikTok for giving a presentation in class on when her students are allowed to say ‘skibidi toilet’.
She stated that they could only do it between the hours of 12 a.m. and 9:15 a.m., and 4 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
A presentation was a creative solution
The teacher who made the presentation clearly implied that the students were only allowed to say the phrase outside of school.
While successful in instating class discipline, she was still confused as to what the popular phrase ‘skibidi toilet’ meant.
Some teachers agree with her
Under the viral video, another teacher commented, stating their own solution to the problem; that the more they say the phrase, the less their students say it.
Kids don’t seem to enjoy hearing the phrase from grown-ups. Another teacher said that once they started singing the ‘skibidi toilet’ song, their students stopped.
Others have already accepted it
On a Reddit post where someone asked what teachers thought of students saying the phrase and how it could affect their class, a lot of teachers said they’ve accepted it.
One teacher commented saying that while it’s disruptive behavior, it’s not new to the classroom, and that every generation has its quirks.

While many might assume the ‘skibidi toilet’ animated videos are a trend among Gen Z, they are actually more popular among Gen Alpha, the kids who are still in school.
