New details have emerged regarding the case of 19-year-old Marlen Ochoa-Lopez , the pregnant Chicago teen who was murdered and had her baby ripped from her womb.
Lopez was reported missing on April 23rd.

She was one of three pregnant women of color who had been reported missing from Chicago’s south side within a matter of months.
Her husband put in a missing persons report after Lopez never showed up to pick up her three-year-old son from daycare.
She was found strangled to death in a Chicago home.

Police have confirmed that the murder was indeed a homicide, and that Lopez’s baby was cut out of her womb after she had been killed.
A 911 call was made after Lopez went missing.
The call was made by a 46-year-old woman who claimed that she had just given birth, but that her baby was not breathing.
Lopez’s body was found in the home that the call was made from.
Her baby is on life support.

Yavani Yadiel Lopez is currently being treated at Advocate Christ Medical Centre, and his DNA has been matched with Lopez’s.
Before Lopez’s body was found, the suspects had posted a GoFundMe to help with the medical expenses of “their” ill baby.

As of May 17th, the baby’s condition is described as “grim” with very little brain function.
Lopez’s father had to identify the body.

He nearly collapsed as he was walked into the Cook County medical examiners office to aid in the identification of his daughter.
This is something no parent should have to experience.
Her mother sat outside the examiner’s office, stunned and grieving.

Lopez’s family is reportedly heartbroken and “unable to make sense of the situation.”
They are truly living a nightmare.
Lopez’s husband spoke to news outlets regarding the tragedy.
“We plead to God that he gives us our child because that is a blessing that my wife left for us,” he stated, “I have a lot of faith that the baby is going to live. God is going to give me that miracle.”
Three suspects have officially been arrested.

Chicago Police participated in a briefing in which they revealed that all three suspects that had been brought in for questioning have been arrested and charged in the case of Marlen Ochoa-Lopez.
Clarisa Figueroa and her daughter Desiree have both been charged with first degree murder.

Clarisa’s boyfriend Piotr Bobak has been charged with concealing murder.
We now know that Clarisa is the woman who made the original 911 call claiming that her baby was not breathing.
Trial dates are yet to be set.

Lopez leaves behind a three-year-old son and husband who she loved dearly, a mourning group of family and friends, and a community left in pieces.
