Sick of quarantine? We’ve got just the remedy!
Alexa PenaVega and Daryl Sabara (aka Juni and Carmen) from Spy Kids just reunited virtually and it’s the most precious thing ever.
If you’re bored, here’s some good news: more and more former casts have been reuniting virtually.
One of the first to do so was The Nanny , the popular ’90s sitcom that followed the hilarious antics of saleswomen-turned-nanny, Fran Fine.
Almost the entire cast got together on YouTube to do a virtual table read of the show’s pilot episode.
This was done to help spread some positivity during this difficult time.
Fran Drescher, the show’s star and co-creator, told *Variety*:
“Laughter is the best medicine! So, in these challenging times, Petah and I thought, wouldn’t it be great if we pulled together the original cast of The Nanny for a virtual read of the pilot?”
Other sitcoms soon followed suit.
The cast of Fraiser got together on Skype to reminisce about their time on the show and to raise money for The Actors Fund.
Mandy Moore even took fans on a walk down memory lane.
While on Instagram Live with her husband, she performed ‘Only Hope’, the hit track from the 2002 tearjerker film, A Walk to Remember .
And now, get this: the cast of the *Spy Kids* recently reunited!
This is the hit 2001 family action film that many of us still remember to this day.
It starred Alexa PenaVega and Daryl Sabara as siblings, Carmen and Juni, in the franchise.
The first movie, which has 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, also starred Antonio Banderas and George Clooney.
There were many other celeb cameos in the sequels, including Salma Hayek, Sylvester Stallone, and even Selena Gomez.
The iconic reunion took place on Instagram after Sabara watched the film with his wife, Meghan Trainor.
The Live was all part of Meghan’s LIVE FROM HOME TOUR, as she’s trying to raise funds for Feeding America.
They began with Daryl answering fan questions about the film.
This led to many jaw-dropping reveals, such as how his warts were fake in the movies and how his years of ballet helped him dance in the films.
He also revealed that he’s still in touch with some of his former cast members.
This includes Matt O’Leary, Emily Osment, and, of course, Alexa PenaVega!
Soon, to fans’ delight, Alexa even joined the live video!
The former co-stars then began reminiscing about the popular franchise.
“Remember how we used to have the harness on for hours and we’d be like, ‘Can someone take it off?’ and then no one ever came?” Sabara recalled, causing his former co-star to laugh.
BTW, this was the first time that Alexa and Meghan met!
So, clearly, Meghan had to get the “sisterly” stamp of approval.
“You’re so pretty,” Meghan told Alexa. Aww!
The conversation soon moved on to props from the film. Turns out that both Daryl and Alexa kept some!
Meghan’s parents even got one of the Juni’s costume’s framed for him. So adorable!
Since Alexa has two kids with her husband, Carlos, she even revealed that her kids haven’t watched *Spy Kids* yet.
To make the whole reunion even more special , Alexa’s husband and her kids said hi to Meghan and Daryl.
The whole thing was such pure goodness and we can’t get enough of it.
