An insider is speaking out about the affair that ended Shakira and Gerard Pique’s relationship.
The source told Page Six that the Colombian pop star, 45, was “devastated” to find out that Clara Chia Marti, the woman her footballer boyfriend allegedly cheated with, was spotted in her home months before she and Pique broke up.

The insider added that the Whenever, Wherever singer and her boyfriend were “very much still together at that time. It’s devastating for her to learn that this affair had been going on for a lot longer than she imagined.”

Rumors that Pique cheated only started circulating in mid-2022. In June, the couple announced that they were separating after 12 years together.

Shakira and Pique started dating in 2011, after meeting on the set of her music video for her 2010 FIFA World Cup anthem, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) . They welcomed their first child Milan in January 2013, and then Sasha in January 2015.

The family lived in Barcelona for eight years but according to Page Six ’s source, Shakira and their sons will now be moving to Miami.
Pique, meanwhile, has gone public with his new girlfriend Chia, who reportedly works for his production company, Kosmos.

Last month, the athlete was spotted out in Barcelona with Chia as they headed to the launch of his new football tournament. Shakira, meanwhile, spent Christmas in Dubai with their kids.

Early this month, the singer seemed to allude to Pique’s betrayal when she posted an inspiring New Year’s message on Instagram . It said in part, “Even if our wounds are still open in this new year, time has a surgeon’s hands. Even if someone’s betrayed us, we must continue to trust others.”
