It’s been years since TV personality, Steve Irwin , died, but his legacy lives on in his 19-year-old son, Robert . The wildlife zookeeper opened up about the connection between him and his late father through their shared love for the ocean.
Connecting Through The Ocean
In an interview with Adelaide Now , the younger Irwin said his father taught him about the ocean at a young age, and he continued exploring the waters to stay connected to Steve. Robert uses some of Steve’s old surfboards during his morning exercise.

Earlier this year, Robert shared a heart-warming tribute on his parent’s wedding anniversary as he praised Steve for being a good example to him and his sister. Robert said that he’s proud to be his parent’s son, as their union created a long-lasting legacy.

Robert’s quest to preserve his father’s legacy started when he was old enough to work in the zoo. He lives with his mother and sibling at the Australia Zoo, and continues rescuing animals and researching nature.
