Rick Moranis is a man of many helmets. Throughout the ’80s and ’90s the lovable comedian wormed his way into our hearts and homes with classic hits like Ghostbusters and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids .
Recently, Rick made a rare TV appearance on the Disney Plus original series, Prop Culture .
The Canadian icon discussed the role of props in making the film, as well as confirmed some exciting news about the upcoming HISTK sequel: Shrunk .
Rick Moranis is a Canadian comedic legend.
Rick got his start on SCTV , a classic Canadian comedy sketch show. The young comedian had talents as both a writer and an actor.
Also, if you’ve never seen his character Bob McKenzie in Strange Brew – you’re missing out!
You’ll probably remember him from his work in *Ghostbusters*.

Rick played the oddball accountant Louis Tully . His naturally awkward demeanor played perfectly for the part, making Louis a quick fan favorite. Moranis even reprised his role five years later for Ghostbusters II .
But if you’re anything like me, he’ll always be Wayne Szalinski from *Honey, I Shrunk The Kids*.

This movie played on repeat in my house for close to three years. At the time, the visual effects were nothing short of stunning.
I can even still remember being terrified during the scene where they fought off the scorpion!
Rick recently made a rare appearance on the Disney Plus original *Prop Culture*.

Prop Culture is a docu-style series, focusing on the importance of props and their relation to filmmaking. Every episode, a new film is discussed and their props explored.
It’s a Through the Looking Glass perspective on your favorite childhood films!
The legendary comedian talked about the process for making *Honey, I Shrunk The Kids*.

“If [Honey, I Shrunk the Kids] were made today , it would be made very differently, probably just with green screen and computer-generated stuff.”
Rick isn’t wrong. All of the best parts of the film would likely be CGI – including Anty!
Rick also confirmed that he’d be reprising his role for the Disney Plus sequel, co-starring alongside Josh Gad.

He’s back! I was positively elated upon hearing this news. Just think: Rick Moranis and Josh Gad together on screen? That’s a recipe for comedic genius if ever there was one.
You can stream the episode and watch the full interview on Disney Plus.
