You may remove your hats, ladies, and gentlemen.
Today we mourn the loss of one of TV’s greatest properties, a series that will live on in our hearts forever.
I am, of course, talking about Ray Donovan , which after seven long seasons of being on the air, is finally getting the ax.
“After seven incredible seasons, “Ray Donovan” has concluded its run on Showtime.”

“We are proud that the series ended amid such strong viewership and on such a powerful note. Our deepest thanks go to Liev Schreiber, Jon Voight, showrunner David Hollander and the entire cast and crew, past and present, for their dedicated work.”
That was the statement given out by Showtime.

Or at least so says TV Line.
Yes, it seems that Ray Donovan , after being a staple of our lives for so many years, is getting the proverbial ax after seven seasons.
With the announcement came this tweet:
That just reminded us of all the great shows we’re losing this year. It also makes one wonder: what’s going on at Showtime?
Is everything alright? They’re losing faster than they can keep track of, it seems.
As for whether or not there will be a Season 8, I’ll let Liev Schreiber himself take it:

“I know the big question on everyone’s mind is whether there will be a season 8. Truth is it’s in the networks hands. So if you want more, reach out to them at @showtime, @raydonovan, and @cbstv and let them know how you feel. Either way, it’s been an amazing ride and we have all of you to thank for it.” he said.
