The human body is pretty incredible.
It’s also incredibly weird .
Unless you’re a surgeon, a scientist, or a serial killer, you mostly see a version of human anatomy that is protected by skin. When we get a glimpse at what’s really going on in there, it can seem down right terrifying.
Let’s get real: Our sex ed wasn’t the greatest.
We maybe covered female anatomy for 0.5 seconds in school.
Women are taught to feel ashamed of their bodies, and as a result, we’re left to figure out how they work on our own .
If I had a dollar every time I had to explain to a man where the clitoris is located, I would be a millionaire.
For example, do you have any idea what a woman’s milk ducts look like?
Of course you don’t. But isn’t the fact that we don’t know kinda weird? Shouldn’t we know? I feel like that’s something we should have been taught.
Lucky for us, a viral photo of a woman’s milk ducts has recently been making waves.

And it’s not at all what I was expecting. Like, at all .
It might be the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m confused but also fascinated. I can’t look away.
A twitter user shared the photo and voiced her genuine surprise.
The original tweet has garnered 120,000 likes and 40,000 retweets in a matter of days, so a lot of people are seeing the muscle systems within female breast tissue for the very first time.
People are terrified.
One twitter user said that the photo “made their skin crawl”, and another wrote, “I DON’T WANT BREASTS ANYMORE.”
It’s true that they look like flower skeletons.
The majority of commenters felt like they witnessed something that they should never have seen.
Others claimed that it triggered deep, dark nightmares that had been hidden in their subconscious minds until now.
But some people saw the photo in a more empowering light.
“Why is everyone saying it’s gross” one twitter user asked, “we have literal flowers on our titties that’s so cool.”
When you think about it, it is kind of cool.
Mothers were especially vocal about the powerful message behind the image.
One mom argued that she breastfed her kids with all that crazy muscle system power, so she feels nothing but pride when she sees it for what it truly is.
If we’re going to walk around in human bodies, what’s the point in being afraid of how they work?
Can we just normalize human anatomy already? Bodies are actually incredible and we should be trying to learn everything we possibly can about them.
Knowledge is power, my dudes.
