Yes, David Crane (the guy who co-created the show) recently came out with an interview with the Radio Times .
He explained that if she hadn’t ended up with Mike, she would have ended up with David.
You know, that scientist guy played by Hank Azaria? The one who went off to Minsk?
“There was definitely a possibility of that,” Crane told the Radio Times. “I mean, we didn’t definitively know [who she’d end up with].
He doesn’t even remember why they chose Mike over David.
“I don’t even remember all the pieces that led to where we landed, but yeah, it could have gone the other way. Phoebe would have been great with either one.”
