If you have nothing else to work with, creativity will always see you through a tough pickle. That’s kind of the point of creativity — to use what you’ve got on hand to solve a problem rather than what’s ideal.

Because cats are going to cat.
Asking a cat to just not knock things over is unrealistic. They’re going to do cat things, like knock flower vases onto the floor.
I know, I live with two of the little rascals. This fix here might not be pretty, but it sure keeps the vase in one piece.
The Chair!
We all have that one chair that collects clothes that might have been worn once but aren’t quite ready for the laundry, right?
Well, someone took that a step further, making a chair out of clothing and zip ties. I don’t know how comfy it would be, but it’s creative!
How appropriate.
A light bulb definitely went off for this guy who converted an old bathtub into a couch, as well as some of the plumbing into a lamp.
It’s a great idea since tubs are made for relaxing and having a soak, and you could probably sink into this with a good book just as easily.
Smooth.
Sure, you could use those plastic mats underneath your rolling office chair… Or, you could set up a makeshift hard floor with some laminate tiles, especially if you have some left over from a project. Not too shabby.
Keeping the toppings on top.
When making mini pizzas with bagels for the crust, this person had the great idea to place a circle of pepperoni over the holes so the cheese wouldn’t melt through and make a giant mess. Perfection.
Stream lined comfort.
Now, we obviously don’t all have easy access to plane fuselages but you have to admire how someone repurposed this one into an RV.
It must have taken a lot of work, but it’s also just too cool and you’ll never lose it in a parking lot.
Goat your attention.
Goats are cute but they can get themselves into some issues on the farm, like getting their horns stuck in fences.
The solution? You’re looking at it: taping a stick to their horns that will prevent them from getting their horns through the fence openings.
High and dry.
I’m not sure if this is strictly street legal or not but that patio umbrella is at least doing its job and keeping the rain off the passengers in the back.
I suspect the wind will have something to say about that eventually but for now, it looks like it’s working.
Is there anything it can’t do?
Let’s face it, when you’re heading out camping, you’re probably packing duct tape. You can do so many things with it, it’s a must-have.
One of the best things to use it for, however, is de-bugging your tent and sleeping bag. I mean, look at that. Ew.
Which one gets you in?
You have to assume that it was for lack of other materials that someone built this shack’s walls entirely out of doors.
But it works on a couple of levels in that you never know which door is the actual entry and it also gives the shack a distinct “stay away” vibe.
Careful there.
I don’t know what broke first: the blender’s jug or the wheel’s grinder. Either way, knives will not go un-sharpened in this house.
Just hope they have a good pair of goggles and gloves when using this contraption.
Well, it works.
Again, not sure about the legality of such a setup but it’s doing the trick to transport this overly long load.
Here’s hoping this trucker doesn’t have to go too far with his little makeshift trailer.
I can see the benefits.
Whoever owns this wheelbarrow must have gotten fed up with flat tires, which I fully understand. Trying to move a load on a flat tire is near impossible.
And you have to admit, a wooden wheel won’t have that problem!
They don’t make ’em like they used to.
A homeowner taking their flooring up got down to the final layer and discovered it had been constructed with road signs.
That’s definitely unorthodox but they clearly lasted, so the homeowner decided to leave them in place. Why not?
Surf’s up but he’s not.
Honestly, this is kind of genius. Paddle boarding without having to go to the trouble of standing up while you do it? Count me in. That’s some lazy relaxation on the water I can literally get on board with.
That’ll show ’em.
“My kids were always complaining about getting the heel of a bread loaf, so I started flipping it over and putting the end side down so they wouldn’t know,” this mom explained.
Something tells me they know. It’s hard to hide those bread heels. But hey, as long as they eat it, right?

Not sure if that facade will hold up under the intense scrutiny of an ice cream-crazed child but it’s worth a shot, right? If anything will destroy their interest, it has to be a leaf of lettuce.
Well, they had to get her home somehow.
“Neighbor’s tortoise escaped and walked almost a street away. At around 250 pounds, this was their solution to get her home,” explained the uploader of this pic. Dolly to the rescue!
“My dad built an outdoor house with a window for his tortoise.”
Different tortoise, it looks like, but just as well cared for as this cool reptile gets its own little house in the yard. Looks like a well done habitat, too, and will hopefully prevent any escapes. Who would want to run away from that?
Work smarter and harder.
Let’s face it: Working from home is a double-edged sword. Yes, you can spend all day in your pajamas, but at the same time, you’re spending all day in your pajamas. So this is a nice solution to stay active and productive at the same time.
Getting warmer.
Well, I’ve seen worse/more dangerous pool heaters out there. Plus, the wheelbarrow fireplace allows you to roast marshmallows as you float and there is ample water to put the fire out when you’re done with it.
An idea that really clicks.
I wouldn’t have thought that gate latches would be tough to come by, never mind tougher to find than a discarded seat belt. But here we are, and you have to admit, it works.

I never would have thought of this, and having broken multiple hose nozzles, I really wish I had. It was right in front of me the whole time, and it looks like the watering can head might even thread right onto the hose. Well done.

Is this a simple, straightforward solution to the problem of mowing the grass in the heat? No. Not even remotely. Which is why you have to give Paw plenty of credit for assembling his own air-conditioned riding mower.
Serious savings.
Hey, if you’re just going to put your mattress on the floor, do you even need a box spring? Nope. So, you can just turn that box spring into a makeshift dresser/book shelf for a fraction of the price.

The only drawback to an irregularly shaped pool is that everything else in the world is regularly shaped. Kudos to this homeowner for finding a floating solution. Now, they’ve got it made in the shade.
How festive!
You’d look quite the sight trimming your hedges or blowing leaves while trailing Christmas lights, wouldn’t you? But hey, you can’t let a little thing like a lack of a proper extension cord keep you down. Just maybe get a real cord for next time.
Hangin’ out the passenger side.
That’s a man who has put his arm on a lot of open windows. And on this one, you clearly can’t just rest your arm on the window sill because of the angle.
A simple pool noodle keeps him riding in style and comfort.

“My cats can stink up my small apartment pretty fast so I rigged their little box to the exhaust fan,” the uploader of this pic explained. Honestly, venting cat litter stink to the outside world might just be the next big thing in pet care, who knows.
“Don’t have a working oven and I wanted fresh baked cookies. So I used the Arizona sun and my car as the oven.”
Obviously it’s not the solution available to every climate zone, but credit to this person for using their surroundings to their advantage. The big bonus here is that now the car will smell like freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. That has to be better than new car smell.
