“Buyer beware” should be a saying people play in their heads more often than they do. Especially when it comes to online shopping; there is just way too many cases of expectations leading to nothing but disappointment.
In these TikToks, users learned the hard way that some businesses just can’t be trusted. What they thought they were getting couldn’t have been further than what they ended up with.
A cake that just didn’t understand the assignment.
In this TikTok, user Bella shows the cake she wanted. And she did get it — well, a printout of the cake on a sheet cake. Which, like, not even close at all.
You got a little something on your eye there…
Imagine thinking you’re going to get some nice, full eyelash extensions, only to have somebody basically stick a couple of centipedes on your face. I guess this TikToker learned her lesson about cheap extensions.
The littlest tree of all.
It’s not just online shopping you have to look out for. Some packages straight up lie about what you’re going to get. That tree looks cute on the box, but looks more like something out of Charlie Brown in real life.
Never trust a gift basket.
How cheap do you have to be to lie about what’s going to be in a gift basket? As this user found out, the business probably didn’t even put half of what was advertised into the real things.
Two different dresses for two different events.
I feel bad for the girls getting their prom dresses online, only for them to come in as completely different (and much worse) outfits. Maybe that’s one thing you should go to a brick and mortar store for.
How can you mess it up that badly?
This poor user wanted an undercut to deal with her thick hair, and got a very confusing job done to the back of her head. Here’s hoping this user finds someone who can actually do the job.
Some things really are too good to be true.
This TikTok shows that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. The carpet in the ad looks so soft and cozy, meanwhile the real one is a hot mess.
Now that’s a straight up scam.
Every day I’m more and more convinced that I should never buy a dress off the internet. The dress this user got looks nothing like the one she ordered, down to the colors. Awful.
Well, at least the design is consistent?
This poor user got duped big time. What, you thought you were getting a corset top with actual beads on it? Nah, just one with a bead pattern printed on it. It’s the same thing, right?
You wanted bangs? Too bad!
This user truly had the worst luck. The haircut she wanted and the haircut she got are such opposites, they’re basically on different planets. I don’t know how she’s gonna deal with waiting for all that hair to grow back.
And tattoos are permanent, too.
At least you can get rid of an ugly dress, and wait for a bad haircut to grow out. A tattoo, on the other hand, is a lot more difficult to get rid of. So make sure your artist knows what they’re doing.
Nice nails! Oh, never mind…
I’ve seen more nail salon horror stories than I feel like anyone should. The worst part about that is, sometimes a bad nail artist will charge you like a good one. Be careful out there.
I’m convinced that online dress stores aren’t real at this point.
Another user hoping to get a cute dress, just to get a disappointment. They aren’t even the same material! I guess that what you can expect for 32 bucks…
Got that Will from ‘Stranger Things’ vibe going on.
That haircut could’ve been great. It could’ve been life changing. Instead, it’s just a mess. On the plus side, hair grows back. But like the rest of the haircut mishaps in this list, it might take a while.
A simple tattoo like that should be hard to mess up.
How did this TikToker’s tattoo artist mess up that badly? I’d be going back there demanding my money back because that’s literally the worst heart tattoo I’ve ever seen.
The cake artist definitely took some creative liberties.
Man, the cake this user ended up getting looked like something you could’ve probably just done at home and saved some money. The fact that the character’s pose is completely different is especially wild.
Sometimes you’re better off painting your own nails.
This TikTok is yet another cautionary tale. Be very, very careful of the nail artist you choose, because they clearly can’t all do the kinds of designs you might want.
Who were they trying to kid with that?
I think the moral of the story is to never trust an ad you see on TikTok. The fact that the actual bean bag chair this dude got isn’t even big enough to be a pet bed? Criminal.
I’m guessing that’s why the MUA’s rates were so low.
Something tells me you should be looking for a makeup artist that charges a little more than £30. You really do get what you pay for, after all.
Meanwhile at the groomers…
This poor dog got shaved down like he had fleas or something. To be fair, though, shaving a double-coated dog is always kind of a bad idea. The groomers probably had no experience doing that kind of cut.
