“Baby talk” gets a lot of flack mostly due to the sickeningly, sweet version so many adults use when addressing children (or pets).
Which is legit, because there may be nothing more grating than a great aunt mushily cooing at your kid in an octave determined to shatter the glassware.
Also? Real baby talk — like, from you know, actual small children — is hilarious.
I mean, sure, toddlers do slur their words in an endearing way.
That’s what “baby talk” is mostly emulating, of course.
The actual best part of toddlers chitchat is how they pick up random bits of language without any of the context, and start using it in ways both hilarious and embarrassing.
It’s a million times more so when the vocabulary they’ve picked up is *not safe for work*.
Which is probably why everyone is really getting a kick out of one toddler’s very unusual name for a classic popsicle.
In the viral video, the kid clearly knows how to say the component parts of “pop” and “sicle.”
This video was shared on TikTok by his aunt, body positivity influencer Mik Zazon .
I don’t know about you, but I’m going to think of this cutie every time I head to the freezer for a chilly treat.
This isn’t the only time this tyke has gone viral, either.
Which is just kind of not fair, really. This kid’s been internet famous more times in a year than most people get in a lifetime.
In April 2020, his very distinct way of riding a scooter also got a ton of attention.
Anyone who rides a push scooter knows that once you’ve propelled it forward, you need to lift your “pushing” foot off the ground.
Most people just place both feet on the platform, though.
Not this kid. This kid has swagger .
So much so that a local skater apparel company sent him some free swag in appreciation.
And for you poo-pooers out there who say the kid only keeps doing it because the parents encourage the mistake: duh.
Let us enjoy the little hilarities right now, okay? He’ll get bored with it quickly and learn the right thing. For now, let’s just laugh.
