Season 6, the final season, of Peaky Blinders just hit Netflix yesterday, bringing to a close an almost 10-year journey that’s been loved by tons of people around the world.
Though many are sad to see it do, the show’s creator revealed he has other plans to keep the world of Peaky Blinders alive, expanding the show’s universe even further.
‘Peaky Blinders’ has officially come to a close.
After being released in the UK back in February , the rest of the world finally got to watch the final season of the renowned series as it was added to Netflix’s catalog on June 10.
While fans rush to binge the last batch of episodes, the show’s creator, Steven Knight, has already laid out some ideas regarding the future of the franchise.
A spin-off movie has already been confirmed.

When speaking to Entertainment Weekly back in February, Knight said he considered the airing of the final season “the end of the beginning.”
“We’re going to end the series as it is at the moment, but we’re going to do the movie, which we’ll shoot in 18 months’ time, maybe a little bit longer.”
He was quick to confirm that more might be in store after.

“After that, according to how the film structure falls into place, we’ll set in motion some spin-offs that will be part of the same universe.”
This was later confirmed in a more recent interview he did, where he said, “[…] I’m quite interested in keeping that world going into the ’40s and ’50s and just seeing where it goes because as long as there’s an appetite, then why not do it?”
Knight revealed that this attitude is sparked by the show’s ever-growing audience.

When asked why he’d want to keep returning to the same world, he answered, “It’s partly to do with the fact that it seems to be going up and not down in terms of audience. And I’m interested in concluding during the Second World War. So the film will be set during that war, and then the film itself will dictate what happens next.”
For fans of the show, this is incredible news.
While the core series may have reached its end, knowing the creator is still so invested in telling more stories from the same setting means there will be more quality content to look forward to in the coming years. Now on to the movie!
