Singer Sabrina Carpenter left online users shocked after her recent performance in Paris while touring Short n’ Sweet in Europe. The performance left many viewers deeming it inappropriate after she simulated an X-rated act on stage.
It was in her Paris show while performing Juno
During her Paris performance on Monday 17 March and while singing the song Juno, Carpenter simulated an intimate act with two male dancers that is typically referred to as the Eiffel Tour, in homage to the Paris landmark.
Carpenter tends to simulate intimate poses on stage for her songs, with her song Juno especially getting one every performance.
Videos of the performance were posted online
A fan on X/Twitter shared a video of her Juno performance in Paris showing the X-rated position, which many took offence at.
People started complaining, saying that the acts are too provocative and inappropriate to be done in public. One person wrote, “This is just… i don’t care if this a woman being confident w her sexuality to you or her just having fun… this is just gross and not necessary.”
Some felt she should consider child viewers

Some users felt that Carpenter should take into account children watching her show, with one person writing on X/Twitter, “I’m sorry but there are little kids in the audience and this is taking it way too far.”
One person on Reddit referred to the singer’s history with being a Disney star, joking, “She said, ‘Disney lost my number.’”
Fans defended Carpenter, saying her music isn’t for kids
While many were upset that the Espresso singer’s shows aren’t family friendly, her fans explained that they’re not meant to be so.
One person said, “Her music is not for children and if you as a parent don’t monitor what your kids are listening to that’s your fault.”
They said it was the parent’s responsibility
Fans defended the singer, saying it was a parent’s responsibility to make sure their children don’t consume inappropriate content. One person wrote, “If you bring your kids to her shows that’s on you.. have u LISTENED to her music.”
“She is very honest that her music is not for kids. You as a parent are responsible for taking them to her concert,” another added.
Carpenter has previously defended herself from backlash
“It’s unfortunate that it’s ever been something to criticize because truthfully, the scariest thing in the world is getting up on a stage in front of that many people and having to perform as if it’s nothing. If the one thing that helps you do that is the way you feel comfortable dressing, then that’s what you’ve got to do,” Carpenter said.
