Barack Obama has made a surprising marriage confession regarding his relationship with Michelle.
Barack and Michelle got married way back in ’92
Then in 2009, they moved into the White House and stayed there until 2017, when his time as president was over.

The 44th president of the US showed up at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, last Thursday (April 4). He talked about a bunch of stuff while he was there, including what he thinks about Trump’s tariffs.
He joined a conversation with the college president
While chatting with the college president, Steven Tepper, Obama actually brought up his marriage with Michelle too, according to The Daily Beast.
Barack said he’s making up for lost time with Michelle
“I was in a deep deficit with my wife,” the former president said. “So I have been trying to dig myself out of that hole by doing occasionally fun things.”
On the other hand, Michelle has talked about the marriage too
She’s been pretty open about their marriage as well. She even shared this ONE thing about Barack that used to bug her—something she had to just learn to live with over time.
The former president struggled a little with punctuality
On her podcast, IMO, Michelle got real about something Barack’s always had trouble with—being on time.
She said, “Barack, you know, he had to adjust to what ‘on time’ was for me.” Then she joked about it, blaming his laid-back Hawaiian vibe: “Because he was on that island time.”
She even mentioned incidents to stress on how messed up his timings could be
Michelle didn’t stop there—she gave a super relatable example. Apparently, the former president had a habit of ONLY starting to get ready on the departure time.
“You know, I’ve got this husband who’s like, when it’s time to leave, it’s 3, he’s getting up and going to the bathroom,” she said. Then she added, “And I was like, dude, dude, a 3 o’clock departure means you’ve done all that, you know? It’s like, don’t start looking for your glasses, you know, at the 3 o’clock departure.”
It’s fair to say his punctuality has improved a lot more now
After 30 years of marriage, Michelle admitted his punctuality has definitely improved. She also pointed out that their daughters, Malia and Sasha, know they need to be early if they’re doing anything with her.
Rumor has it he was often late, even during the presidency
Turns out, Barack’s time management didn’t really improve while he was in the White House. The Washington Post reported back in 2014 that he was over 35 hours late to his scheduled events.

At 63, Barack confirmed he’s wrapping up the second half of his presidential memoirs. He also took the chance to talk about America’s gun laws while he was at it.
