Just weeks after leading the Boston Celtics to the NBA Finals and being two games away from a championship, the Celtics shockingly announced their decision to suspend coach Ime Udoka for at least one year.
Udoka reportedly had relationships with multiple women within the Celtics organization and didn’t even stop when confronted by the front office.
Notably, the former NBA player is also in a relationship with fiancée Nia Long, a renowned actress and beloved figure in Hollywood. Needless to say, this infidelity scandal was a major blow for her.
Their Children Got Caught Up
But as painful or shocking as it may have been for Long, the most heartbreaking part of his scandal is how their children got caught up in the middle of the story, according to the actress and dancer:
It Was Hard For Them
Nia claimed to be devastated by how people reported the news, and she even had to have her children change schools because of this scandal. Also, she criticized the Celtics organization for never even reaching out to her or her family:
There’s More To The Story

Udoka’s relationship was reportedly inappropriate but consensual. However, there’s more to the story, and it seems like the woman actually complained after he reportedly made some obscene comments about her:
He May Not Coach Again
Even though we don’t know all the details, most insiders agree that the word around the NBA is that Udoka is unlikely to come back next season, and there are serious doubts about whether he’ll ever coach again:
Clearly, there’s way more to this story than what has been told thus far. Hopefully, people will think of the children and have some empathy before releasing another report, as Long and her children have been through enough already.
