Recently, one mom shared on TikTok she’s been going through it with other moms.
20-year-old mom Annais Bolton recently shared online that tons of moms initially want to be her friend because she’s a young, fun mom. However, when they find out about her parenting choices, they change their mind.
First, she shared that she formula feeds.
Bolton shared online with TikTok followers that she formula feeds, rather than breastfeeds, her daughter. Many people are oftentimes conflicted about what is best for babies, formula or breastmilk, and can get very defensive about them both.
Bolton shared that she also likes to go clubbing.
The 20-year-old also said that she goes clubbing often and likes to enjoy her free time. Many moms find this to be strange because some mothers feel like once you become a mom, that part of your life “ends.”
She also doesn’t “dress” like a typical mom according to her video.
Many moms seem to also judge her based on her appearance and how she dresses, compared to other moms. Bolton doesn’t seem to really mind much, as she posts outfit videos on TikTok often.
Lastly, she shared that she does not limit screen time for her daughter.
One other controversial view that she shared was that she does not limit screen time for her daughter on her iPad or TV. Many other moms feel as though this is “bad parenting.”
It seems that many people feel as though some of the choices were “not it.”
On TikTok, some users were agreeing with Bolton originally, but then when she got to certain topics, they fell off. For example, one commenter said she was in agreement until Bolton mentioned the limitless screen time.
Many comments on her video showed that other parents also go through this, too.
Many commenters said they are tired of hearing slack from people about their screen time choices. Some moms also shared they use screen time to get a break from their kids for a minute.
Some shared they want to be Bolton’s friend.
Commenters also felt like they could relate to Bolton, too, and that they feel as though moms don’t want to be their friend based on their own choices which are similar to her own.
And, most importantly, commenters made one good inference.
People online shared that even though people may disagree with her choices, all that truly matters is that Bolton’s baby is well taken care of, fed, and loved. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters.
