Congratulations are in order for Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet, who recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, pediatric nurse Lindsay Schweitzer.
The pair, who met in 2016 at a charity event, have kept their relationship relatively low-key (by Hollywood standards) and now, friends and fans alike are celebrating the happy pair’s big news in a series of comments on social media.

Eric Stonestreet shared that he’d popped the question to his girlfriend, Lindsay Schweitzer on Instagram on Sunday.
People was first to report that the two-time Emmy-winning actor was dating the pediatric nurse in 2017 after they met at the the Big Slick charity weekend in Kansas City the year before.
“They are very happy to have met each other,” a source previously told the publication.
“They’re enjoying spending time together.”
Enjoying time together seems to be what this pair is best at — just take a look at Eric’s Instagram!
In a post showing his most liked photos from 2019, *all* of the pics were of Lindsay looking *less than impressed.*
“My top nine is a total ten. Happy New Year everyone!,” he wrote. “Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate you thinking I’m funny. Now, if you could tell Lindsay I am, that’d be great.”
Another picture shows off his now-fiancé, then girlfriend posing in front of an row of period products with the caption:
“Me: ‘Hey lemme get pic of you.’ Her: ‘Here? Why?’ Me: ‘Cause you look pretty in this light.’ Her: ‘Awwww thanks babe.’”
It’s clear these two have a lot of fun together, like when he insisted on slurping his popsicle beside her for the sake of this hilarious video.

Posting a series of engagement photos on his social media to share the exciting news, Eric wrote: “She said, ‘She’d have her people call my people.'”

Congrats you beautiful couple you,” chimed in Michael Bublé.
During a 2017 appearance on *The Ellen Show* Eric sang Lindsay’s praises.
“Your girlfriend is lovely — I met her backstage,” Ellen said at the time. “She’s a nurse. That’s a good thing for you, because you’re a hypochondriac.”
“I’m a big baby, too. She calms me — she calms my nerves,” Eric replied.
“I’m a very high-strung person. You can tell, right? What are you looking at, ma’am?!” he jokingly shouted at a woman in the audience before adding: “My nurse girlfriend will take care of you.”
It’s clear both Eric and Lindsay have a zest for life that makes them the perfect match.
