Miley Cyrus seems to have responded to criticism she faced after a video broke out from her London meet-and-greet event which people felt showed her dismissing a fan.
She had a record singing in London
The 32-year-old singer had a record singing meet-and-greet event with her friend and collaborator Naomi Campbell at the London record store Sough Trade East on Saturday, June 21.
They were signing unreleased Something Beautiful vinyls.
A video of a moment from the signing broke out

A video circulated online after first being posted on Reddit showing Cyrus and Campbell sitting at a table and chatting amongst themselves as a fan approached to get their record signed.
The fan stood at the other side of the table waiting for Cyrus’ attention, who only briefly smiled for a photo and then turned back to Campbell, which prompted the fan to awkwardly walk away.
Users expressed their disappointment with the move
Online users didn’t like what happened in the video, with many expressing their disappointment at Cyrus’s alleged dismissal of her fans.
One person wrote, “Wow! That’s so inconsiderate & rude IMO.”
People felt that she should’ve given the fan more attention
Another user wrote, “They bought her album and her behavior towards them is so inconsiderate and dismissive. I wonder if they also paid for the signing/photo op too.”
The singer seemed to address the backlash
On Tuesday, June 24, Cyrus seemed to address the backlash in an Instagram post where she shared a photo of her and Campbell as well as a few videos of the two singing vinyls.
She began in her caption, “Our vinyl was originally set to drop a week later, but since we were both in London @roughtradeeast made it happen day of.”
She explained it was a last-minute thing
“I wanted to gift my Smilers an exclusive experience & unreleased vinyl to thank you for the love you’ve shown me in the UK over the years. I saw so many familiar faces & met some sweet new ones,” the singer wrote.
A photographer was able to capture some moments
She noted that “the record store requested no photos due to the unexpected last minute turn out” but that photographer Vijat M was able to capture some moments because “we knew the night needed to be captured.”
She concluded, “To everyone who came out to celebrate our single, we love you.”
