The royal family is no stranger to controversy. As fans of the royals know, the U.K. tabloids can be SO salacious! While the family rarely addresses the rumors swirling around out there, it seems Meghan Markle’s team couldn’t let the latest one slide.
Now, the duchess’ rep is firing back at claims that Meghan intentionally dissed her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

While most of us are left to deal with our family issues on a public Facebook status, others have to take to the press and release official statements.
Meghan Markle is the latest royal to shut down rumors.
As you may have seen, news outlets began reporting that Meghan Markle had removed her name from her son Archie’s birth certificate this past weekend.
The Sun claimed that the duchess of Sussex removed her first names, “Rachel Meghan,” off of her son’s birth papers and left it as “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex.”
The change was made on June 5, 2019 — just weeks after May 6, when Archie was born.
The Sun called the “unprecedented move” a “snub” to Kate Middleton, who used her name on the birth certificates of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The publication went on to claim that Meghan was “aligning” with Princess Diana, who only used “Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales.”
Speaking with a panel of “experts,” the Sun reported various “findings” in their article.
The Sun spoke with the queen’s ex-press secretary, Dickie Arbiter, who said, “Maybe this was an early part of their plan.”
Lady Colin Campbell, who spotted the amendment, told the publication, “It is extraordinary and raises all kinds of questions about what the Sussexes were thinking.”
Expert Ingrid Seward commented, “For a royal to change a birth certificate is unprecedented but to remove forenames is remarkable.”
“Perhaps this is another sign they were desperate to do something different to the Cambridges.”
Fans were confused as to why this news was being brought up now and took to social media to express their concerns.
“Can we talk about the fact that that trash Family made Meghan Markle take her name off her child’s birth certificate,” one fan tweeted.
“I am sick of this family!”
Speaking to *ET Canada*, a spokesperson for Ms. Markle is firing back at the allegations.
” The change of name on public documents in 2019 was dictated by The Palace, as confirmed by documents from senior Palace officials. This was not requested by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex nor by The Duke of Sussex.”
The statement continued:
“To see this U.K. tabloid and their carnival of so-called ‘experts’ choose to deceptively whip this into a calculated family ‘snub’ and suggest that she would oddly want to be nameless on her child’s birth certificate, or any other legal document would be laughable were it not offensive.”
“There’s a lot going on in the world; let’s focus on that rather than creating clickbait,” the statement concluded.

News outlets sparking petty fighting among the royals is nothing new, but it must be so frustrating for Meghan!
