TMZ broke the news earlier this week that 33-year-old fashion mogul and Hollywood icon Mary-Kate Olsen and her 50-year-old husband of five years Pierre Olivier Sarkozy were divorcing.

The unlikely pair have been together since 2012.
Pierre is the half brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and has two children from a previous marriage.
This was Mary-Kate’s first marriage.

Now, the couple is in the weeds of a complicated divorce due to the global pandemic.
TMZ reported that Mary Kate’s attorneys got an email from her husband’s attorneys this week giving her until May 18th to get her stuff out of their NYC apartment.
MK is claiming Pierre is trying to force her out of their home, because he terminated their lease without her knowledge or consent.
TMZ reported that MK signed a petition for divorce back on April 17th, but was informed NYC courts were not accepting divorce filings, other than emergencies, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The actress told TMZ she had been asking Pierre to give her until May 30th to move her things out, but said he hasn’t responded.
The last we heard, Mary-Kate had requested to submit an emergency divorce filing.
In her request for the emergency filing, Mary-Kate said that her husband had given her until May 18 to move out of their apartment, explaining : “I am petrified that my husband is trying to deprive me of the home we have lived in and if he is successful, I will not only lose my home but I risk losing my personal property as well.”
However, it is now being reported that Mary-Kate’s emergency divorce filing has been denied.
New York courts spokesperson Lucian Chalfen told E! News that only “essential, emergency” filings are being accepted at the moment.
They added: “The original filing was rejected by the New York County Clerk because they did not follow the essential matter procedure.”
“They refiled under the essential matter procedure and the matter was referred to the ex-party State Supreme Court Judge. He just decided that it is not an essential matter so they can’t file anything at this point.”
