A married couple, Kevin and Wendy Wilson, from Millbrook, Alabama, both got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in the same week, but they’re not ready to stop being in their kids’ lives just yet.
They set up a GoFundMe to tell the story

The couple, who have been together for 21 years and married for 18, said they’ve “always carried the weight of life together,” as per their GoFundMe fundraiser.
Now, life is testing them as they received two stage 4 cancer diagnoses in the same week.
Wendy was the one undergoing treatment at first

For a long time, Wendy was the only half of the couple undergoing cancer treatment as the Alabama mom received her first cancer diagnosis in 2004 and underwent a double mastectomy in 2017.
This was until she found out that her breast cancer had recurred.
She spoke about the diagnoses

Talking to the NBC affiliate WSFA, Wendy said, “I’ve had ovarian, cervical and breast cancer, and then, this time, with breast cancer.”
Meanwhile, her husband’s recent cancer diagnosis is his first. She explained, “He was told that he has stage 4 prostate cancer, and then, within a week later, I was told that my breast cancer had come back for a second time.”
They’re determined to stay strong for their family

Wendy explained that her cancer was also diagnosed with stage 4 this time around, like Kevin, “because it had spread to other areas of my body.”
The pair are “the kind of people who give without asking, who love without limits, and who never stop fighting for their family,” the GoFundMe reads.
The couple want to recover for their kids

Wendy told WSFA that family is exactly what keeps her and Kevin going. “To be honest, it’s my kids,” she said, “I’m not done seeing them grow.”
“I’m not done seeing them graduate high school, or continue the legacy of us,” she added. “So, that’s my strength: showing them that no matter what you’re faced with, you have to meet it head on and do the best you can, and if you can’t you’re going to go down fighting.”
Their youngest daughter spoke to the outlet

Savannah, the couple’s youngest child, urged people not to take the time they have with loved ones for granted, telling the outlet that her parents “need everything that they can get right now.”
“Anything can turn bad quickly,” the daughter reiterated, adding that “no matter what you have going on, always check on your family and your loved ones.”
The couple are showing up while receiving treatment

According to the GoFundMe, the couple “are both still working” as they receive treatment. The fundraiser stated that they’re both “still showing up” and “still trying to keep their lives steady while the ground beneath them keeps shifting.”
They have also started sharing their recovery journey on a TikTok account: @ourcancerbattle.
