While things may have been easier years ago, unfortunately, today, we have to be looking over our shoulders constantly. Parents are finding out the world we live in currently can be rather scary for their children to navigate all by themselves.

Recently, one dad proved this to be true when he shared what has been happening to his daughter.
The dad and TikTok user, who goes by Boogeyman0302 , shared a story of what has been going on with his daughter’s car when she goes to work in the city.
The dad said that they live in a rural area, but his daughter works in the city.
She travels to and from work driving, on her own, but she doesn’t get off sometimes until very late–like 3 AM—and she drives back home about an hour or more.
Recently, the father discovered something terrifying on her car.
For three nights in a row, the dad shared that he kept finding something attached to the back door, something that he had never quite seen before.
The back door had a black zip tie tied around the door handle.
Every time his daughter came home, the dad cut the zip tie off of the door. But, when she came back, the zip tie was there again.
He asked his daughter about it, and she had no idea who had put it there or why.
Apparently, his daughter was unaware that the zip tie was even on her door handle. Every single night she had not noticed who had put it there, or even, that it was there at all.
Luckily, her uncle works in law enforcement, so her father asked for assistance.
When he told his brother, he got very silent on the phone, which I’m sure didn’t help the stress level. His brother informed him that this is a routine people use to sex-traffic young women.
When a person sees a young woman alone, who can be vulnerable, they put the zip tie on the car.
The zip tie is a tracking signal that lets others know, those who work to kidnap and abduct young women, that the woman is alone and vulnerable, and an easy target.
His brother told him to “cut them all off.”
The dad, who had been cutting them off regardless, was told by his law enforcement brother to ensure that he cuts the zip ties off so that his daughter can be safe.
The dad shared the PSA with others to help other parents know the signs and make sense of this crazy world.
Many TikTok users online shared some insight, as well. One user said that the father should check for a tracker, like an Air Tag, to make sure no one is actually tracking and following her car via GPS.
Another said to make sure the daughter does not “cut the zip tie” on the spot.
One TikTok user said to “make sure” his daughter doesn’t cut the zip tie in the parking lot at work or wherever she was parked alone, because it can be a ploy to distract her so they can take her that way. Always cut it off when you’re safe back at home.
This dad said he was not going to be taking any chances.
After finding out what the zip ties are and what is going on with his daughter, the dad shared he and some friends are going to be following her to work and hanging out around there until she is finished for a while.
Smart move, dad.
